Question, when you get your notification email from EVGA how long do you have to purchase the card via the link they send. Also what time of day do they generally send out the notification email?
I too had the same issue with the Asus Maximus Hero VIII, I could not disable it in the UEFI. This behavior only occurred using a keyboard with a ps2 connection, once I switched it with a USB keyboard I could disable the option in the UEFI to boot when pressing a key combination.
For me this is an easy one. I will hang on to my OC 980 Ti and wait to see what big pascal and Vega have to offer. These FE cards are overpriced and do not provide enough improvement in performance for me to upgrade.
Because they're lying, profits are at record levels and they're claiming they take a loss on reference cards? That's BS, this is clearly a price hike. My Asus 980 Ti Strix came with a much better cooler, better voltage regulation, back-plate and a beautifully crafted PCB all for $20 over MSRP...
I believe Nvidia is testing the waters so to speak, pushing the boundaries to see how much people are willing to pay. $699 for a reference card based on a mid size chip. If you don't like it, vote with your wallet. Personally I'm waiting for "big Pascal" as the gains here don't look to be worth...
