I've got the Swans D1010MKII paired up with a tSc ASW-8 sub and Asus Xonar DX. It sounds great, has lasted me about 2.5 years now, and wasn't too expensive.
Swans D1010MKII - ~$125
cant find link for the asw-8 right now, i think its discontinued. but it was ~$100
Asus Xonar DX - got...
Does anyone know of a good switch for 3.5mm? I was thinking of trying to make one myself, but I think buying one with real quality would be a better solution. My main problem is that I hate having to bend over to plug in my headphones or unplug speakers/plug in headphones.
A quick google...
After reading the review on the front page about the AD700, I'm urged to buy it. I can probably sell the HD 280 I already have and buy the AD700 after throwing in another $20-$30, but I'm wondering if I'll notice much of a difference. The HD 280 was my first pair of 'higher' quality headphones...
I'm having the same problem, but now my computer wont even boot up. I'm assuming bad mobo? I'm going to check warranty information as soon as i get home from work.
Changing out the LCD should most definitely fix that problem. I've never changed one out myself, but it should be covered under warranty if you still have one.
I just ordered a 4870 512mb before this, god bless refusing shipping. I called them and they were super helpful with not charging me restocking fees when i returned the other one if i ordered this one. Hoorah for double the memory for $20 cheaper and no mir!
Seems like one hell of a powerhouse. I've got the PC351B and I love it, great choice there. I would prefer a different motherboard simply because of the layout of the pcie/pci. I use my x1 slot for my Xonar DX, pci for wireless and x16 for the obvious video card. Your card is going to to cover...
I just use a headphone splitter for my connection. Both my speakers and sub only have RCA in, no out. So it seems to work fine for me. I've noticed that you really cant set up just a 2.1 setup with soundcards. I mean like plug the sub into the sub out and the speakers into the front out. This...
I just purchased a Xonar DX and I'm super happy with the sound that it is producing through my speakers, but I'm considering some nice headphones so I my neighbors dont have to bang on the wall (possibly hd600?). The question is, will I notice a significant quality increase if I were to also...
So someone pushed in the center of my speaker. I dont have an actual picture on me of it because im at work right now. I have the Swans D1080MKII and its on the larger woofer. its not pushed in that much, so it HAS to be fixable. I've heard of using a vaccuum on it, but does that actually work...
I'm thinking of purchasing a new monitor, I have a 20.1" Dell Ultrasharp at the moment. I was thinking of getting a ~32" lcd tv for my room that I could use for the computer and just for normal tv/video game use. But looking around, there are a few 28" monitors that catch my eye. I don't really...
80% music, 10% movies, 10% games. The speakers and sub I have are in my sig but I might sell my D1080MKII soon and pick up the M200MKII. Most of my files are 328 kbps .mp3s, but I have a few flacs of my favorite albums. If the Fubar II isn't really ideal, any recommendations on good external...
I've read quite a bit on the Fubar II lately, but I JUST ordered a Xonar DX. Any advice on which one I should actually go for? The Xonar has yet to be shipped so I can still cancel the order and spend a little bit more to get an external DAC. That way I wouldn't have to deal with drivers and all...
My swans speakers sound better then anything else ive owned with my onboard right now, but I've got a Xonar DX in the mail now. I can let you know how improved the sound is when I get it. Theyve got an external thing that ive yet to try, but, its worth checking out...
An easy solution might be to just split the output from the computer to go to both the tv and the pc speakers and just turn off the tv speakers when it is not in use. I don't think a switch is really necessary in this situation.
I would go for the MK200. I'm pleased with how the D1080 sound but I've heard the MK200 just that much better. Just make sure you get a good sound card to make them shine. I just ordered a Xonar DX and it probably won't be here for another week, but they sounded great on the X-fi XtremeMusic...
Rebate only valid until 5/31, but the card is $10 cheaper then newegg on smartsubs. You need to automatically sign up for a stupid Real account that will charge you 12.99 or something after 14 days, but I just called and canceled my account right after my order.

I own the D1080MKII and I noticed that a sub makes a difference. Putting the sub to the sub out on the sound card doesn't really work in my experiences since many cards only use the sub-out on 5.1 or 7.1. My sub also doesn't have an rca-out, so I just use a splitter. It works pretty well.
So i decided to check cpuz to see what my memory is up to. If im not mistaken i thought that pc2 6400 was supposed to run at 800mhz? Also in the newegg specifications of the memory it says the timings are supposed to be 4-4-4-12, but cpuz states 5-5-5-12 at 400mhz. Is there a way to fix this? Or...
Alright, I think I'm going to pick it up from the egg tomorrow as soon as the paycheck comes. I may or may not be posting another question to really get that working.
I think i might just have to go with the Linksys one. I see on ebay some of them are going for ~$40. I really don't gave the money to spend on Apple TV or anything >$200.
I had an X-Fi Xtrememusic and it had problems with outputting 2.1, forcing me to just use a splitter. (one going to sub, the other to the monitors.) My question is, does the Xonar have this problem as well? I'm assuming that quality would be much greater if i wasn't just using a splitter and the...
I know this HAS to be possible, but I'm just not too sure how to do it. I want to be able to output music in separate rooms in my apartment. (living room, my room, bathroom) My current setup is Swans D1080MKII and an Energy ESW10 for my room. I have Logitech Z-5500 for the living room, and I...
Had anyone ordered this case and experienced the fans to be too loud at all? I've got it coming in the mail, but I'm not sure if I should order some low noise ones right away to save myself some trouble.
I was wondering if anyone has had any problems fitting memory with taller heatsinks on them such as the patriot viper or corsair xms2. Probably a pretty stupid question, but i just want to make sure that i wont be short on headroom when i build.
heres a link to the patriot i'm talking about...
I'm just going to use the psu I have in my current build. Its a OCZ600SXS

My friend is going to sell me his 9950 BE for pretty cheap so I just decided to start my build there. What are the good AM2+ mini or micro ATX boards? I see that not too many of you go with an AMD proc in your system. I'd prefer some sort of decent integrated graphic power since I just dont feel...
My sub finally came and I decided to just hook it up with a Y-connector with the Swans. It wouldn't let me connect it through the sub/center out on my soundcard or motherboard sound. But the sound is still amazing. All I can say is that this kicks the hell out of my Z-5500s. I'm very impressed.
