dvsman: Yes, according to Samsung Magician the 970 is using the NVME driver.
The 840 has Rapid Mode enabled, but Rapid Mode is not available for the 970.
Funny thing was, I didn't see it listed on the parts callout. It wasn't even mentioned in the main instructions.
I just happened to see the piece in the parts bag after I latched the CPU, (but luckily before I mounted the heatsink).
It was then that I spotted the installation instructions for it...
Master- Yes, I tried it the way the instructions illustrate it, but I just couldn't get the plate to close.
Kyle- I finally just left it out and finished the build without it.
Thanks both!
Just sorting out a new build- ASUS Z930-A, 9700K and a 970EVO NVMe M.2 drive.
Running some benchmarks after getting everything up and running, it looks like my old 840EVO kicks the 970EVO ass.
Possible driver issue, BIOS issue, defective 970?
It's only running PCIEx2, because I'm using all 6...
Just put together a new build- 9700K with TRUE Spirit 140 Power.
The cooler included a plastic spacer for use with 1151 sockets.
No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the retaining plate to close with the spacer on the CPU.
From what I've read, the spacer became necessary because Skylake CPU...
Gathering parts for a new build (i7-9700K on an Asus Z370-A Prime).
Trying to decide on an air cooler.
Wondering if the Macho is that much better, if at all, than the TRUE Spirit.
Basically wondering if the extra weight and size is worth it.
Thanks!
I know Fallout 4 has been out quite a while, but after searching (apparently Google is not my friend), I can't seem to find an answer.
I've finished the main story long ago, and am now just fooling around.
For some reason (a game update, maybe) I can no longer load the "Turret Override" program...
Getting ready to replace my P6T V2 Deluxe with a more modern board in my 800D.
I never upgraded to the SATA 3 backplane (or the USB 3 front panel) while Corsair still had them available.
Will the original backplane limit the speed of my drives to SATA 2 specs?
I would rather not connect the...
Yeah- I tried to get it earlier, but said unavailable- kept checking back and got it (right before my earlier post).
Maybe they only get a certain numbers of keys at a time?
Finally!
Had constant BSOD after the update.
I was hoping to see an article like this on Wednesday.
When I didn't see anything on [H], I thought it was my hardware/overclock.
Tried down clocking, memory tests, nothing worked.
Ultimately was able to roll back to a previous restore point and...
Finally going to take the plunge with an SSD.
I've read that the 840EVO does not come with screws.
I've also read that the screws that come with the Corsair 800D are too long.
(going to mount it in one of the hot swap bays.)
What size mounting screws would work, and where can they be found...
Admittedy, some of the textures could be better.
Thing is, I don't think it detracts from the overall experience.
I think I'm only on the second mission and I already know I WILL replay this game.
(not that my opinion means jack, but this is about the only game I've played that I want to go...
As some have stated, I think part of the problem is the yellow light. I believe with the cameras installed around where I live (NJ), you can get flashed entering the intersection as it turns to yellow.
Some of the intersections have count down timers for the pedestrians. If you can see these as...
Ordered a copy.
I've read (and keep reading) bad things about it, but @ about $7.00 I went for it.
Hopefully it'll be like a movie that I went to see, even though the critics gave it bad reviews, and I ended up enjoying it anyway.
Okay I tried to stay out of this, but here is my take:
There is NO justification (in this case) for a 40+ year old man to put his hands around the throat of a 13 year old kid.
(unless that 13 year old kid had a REAL weapon or by some other circumstance posed a REAL threat to that man...
