Updating for posterity...
I replaced the LG monitor with a Gigabyte M27U and the issue is still happening.
I've submitted a ticket to MSI because it might be GPU related.
I havent seen it happen since I swapped out the monitor and I've been running some pretty instensive tasks since then. Also, this computer/equipment is running on a dedicated 12 amp circuit, so I can't imagine it is power-related.
Well, I'm on a clean Windows install and this is still happening, so it is not driver related. I'm on the verge of taking the L and returning this thing.
I've hooked up my old Alienware monitor to see what happens and so far it has been stable.
I'm having an interesting problem. I bought a couple of displays from Amazon Warehouse to replace my aging Alienware AW3418DW. I replaced this one with an LG 32GQ950-B and an LG 27GP95R-B. Additionally I also use a Dell P2419H, which I used with my old Alienware monitor without issue. I have an...
I'm trying to build a new PC from scratch. I currently have an AMD 3900X CPU and have been generally happy with it, but I'd like to upgrade to something newer.
I'm seeing that the AMD 7900X is a 12 core CPU with a 4.7 base clock speed, boosts to 5.6. The Intel 13700K is a 16 core CPU and has a...
I'm on a mission to reduce the overall noise that my PC makes. I use a Corsair Carbide 540 Air case with three 140mm Corsair LL RGB fans and a Corsair H100i V2 with 2x 120mm SP120L fans.
I think the main culprit of noise is the radiator and it's fans. Sometimes, particularly when gaming, en...
So, at default, it is sending 1.4v to the chip, especially when idling. That's why I'm looking into this mess. If I tune it and go down to 1.275, I can get all cores up to 4.2 Ghz, which reduces all temps as well.
thesmokingman Would you say that Ryzen Master voltage readings suffer from the...
I let HWInfo run for a few hours last night while I was doing things like gaming, editing, etc.
Here is what I have:
As you can see, I have two cores that hit 4.5 Ghz, two that hit 4.4 Ghz, 5 that hit 4.3 Ghz. The rest are lower than that. I was doing a ton of stuff, from gaming to editing...
This is my first time overclocking anything. For good reason. Up until now, I don't think I've had a processor that has numbers that act so weird. I've never really had to overclock as I was happy with the stock speeds and general working of the chip.
However, while Zen 2 are incredible...
I guess the only advantage is to keep voltage under 1.3v at all times, instead of letting it ride at the 1.4v level, where it seems to be at every time I check.
Very new at this stuff, so I'm not sure if I'm thinking about this correctly.
I'm not much of an overclocker, but my system was running hot with stock settings (1.4v), so I started to do some research and found a detailed post on what to do to manually set clock speed and voltage.
Right now I'm at 1.275 volts and seeing stable 4.2 Ghz speeds with temperatures not...
Ended up getting 3 140mm LL series fans and came with the Hub and Lighting Node Pro. They look great! This is what I wanted to achieve, so thanks for the input.
I might need to get 2 120mm fans to replace the stock ones on my H100i v2. If I do replace them, I plan to just plug them in to the...
Thanks. So Corsair's system basically works with Corsair hardware.
Given that I only have 2 addressable headers, what hardware would I need to address more than 2 (non-Corsair) fans? Is that even possible?
Based on what you say, it seems that the Commander Pro can do everything a Lighting Node...
I have Corsair Carbine Air 540 and in it, an Aorus X570 Ultra. For the longest time I've been wanting to swap out the fans that came with the case and add some RGB ones, but Corsair nomenclature for everything is very confusing.
Right now, I'd like to add 3 140mm RGB fans to the case and my...
So I got the 2x16 3600 c16 G Skill Trident Z Neo sticks from Newegg. Happy to report they work perfectly out of the box with an Aorus x570 Ultra and 3700x.
I can't seem to push mine past 4.3 Ghz on a couple of the cores. Tried Cinebench, Battlefield V, no cigar. My averages range between 3.6 and 4.1.
What could be causing that?
Thanks. Yes, I was actually on Newegg when they first appeared after a page refresh. I took too long to pull the trigger and they were gone. Targeting the 2x16 3600 C16 @ $200.
I have an incoming 3700x and an Aorus Ultra x570 board that will be here later this week.
I'm struggling to find adequate memory for it as I keep reading so many different stories...
I currently have the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 C15 (2x8 GB) kit and according to what I've read I want at...
Well, some data is starting to come through. Looks like mobos aren't too expensive. But now, after reading a few things, I'm really wondering if the i9900K doesn't make more sense so that I can keep my current motherboard.
Great post and thank you for the explanation. I understood half of it, but I will take your word for it. Also, infinity fabric sounds like something straight out of the avengers.
I try to avoid 4K for now so I don't have to create proxies.
So, given mvmiller12's post, my understanding is that...
How far away is PCIe 4.0 for gamers? I thought current video cards can't even max out PCIe 3 at the moment? Will the next round of Nvidia cards leverage PCIe 4? I don't think it is a huge deal breaker for me. As far as memory faster than 3200, it isn't super terrible either. If I'm not mistaken...
I laughed hard at this.
This is actually a great candidate if I were to go the X470 route. It also seems to have all the USB ports I need and then some.
How on earth did you score the $155 price? I'm seeing $216 and don't see anything lower than that.
Lastly, where will a X470 board fall...
Thanks for the replies.
Regarding my RAM, they're incorrect in the image above. I am running 2x 8GB. Sorry about that!
Everything I've read makes me think that Ryzen 3 will be better than what I currently have. This year is my "upgrade year" and I was looking to get a faster processor as I'm...
I'm planning on getting a Ryzen 7 3800x to replace my i5 7600K. With that, comes a new motherboard.
Wondering what mobo has the best bang for the buck for this new processor. Ideally, I'd like something with plenty of USB 3 ports and one or two USB-C ports. I don't really want to break the bank...
I've been doing some reading and there is a lot of discussion about single-core vs multi-core performance. Is there a rule of the thumb regarding when you should prioritize one or the other? I haven't been able to find a list that says "if you're into this, then intel is what you need. if you're...
Title might be misleading; I need some advice on options to upgrade. While this system works really well for me, lately I've been doing a lot of video work and would like something that can render video faster. I don't want the best system possible; I'll settle for noticeable improvement for...
I typically use portable hard drives to keep backups of important things, in addition to other backups I have in place.
The two drives I have are getting old and super slow. I'm getting about 50 MB/s on one of them right now, so I want to replace it.
Looking for something with at least 2TB...
Sorry, yes, I meant a 1 tb drive the drive would be mostly for gaming. Some level of reliability is expected, but I have most of my stuff backed up. Form factor is not an issue, although I keep hearing that for my use theres little difference between sata ssd and m.2
Looking to get a 1 GB SSD sometime this week. I've been out of touch for months.
What does everyone recommend in terms of highest speed at the best price?
Thanks!
Thanks.
But there's nothing that would allow me to set up a browser streaming video on full screen on a portion of the screen, coming from a single video source, right?
