Right now, don't by x99 but buy Z2xx LGA 1151 and Kaby Lake and wait for nice upgrade to 6/12 on same socket with the highest IPC, or wait and get x299 with new Sky Lake X. I would totally not consider Ryzen.

Just happens that games on Ryzen run faster under Windows 7 than Windows 10. There are videos all over youtube on it. Win10 will bork system before Win7 does.

Update: According to AMD Windows 10 scheduler is not a problem but simply games are more optimized for Intel CPUs.

A reason i am saying this is that Windows 10 CPU scheduler sucks even on Intel CPU, tested this against 14/28, 12/24, 10/20 Xeons.

I can show you how bad Ryzen is with 1080 SLI in 2k.

Most gamers game at @1080 which means Ryzen is an awful option for just that.

I would retest Ryzen with Windows 7 and i am saying this because Windows 7 does better CPU scheduling that crap called Windows 10, did lot of comparison againx 10/20 Xeon.

Hardocp had the best gaming benchmark by setting resolution so low and eliminating GPU bottleneck completely and we can see that Ryzen is not doing well. So what will happen as video cards get better and better, you will see a bigger and bigger gap between Ryzen and Intel cpus in 2k and 4k...

Some chinese site did bench on Doom and it is losing horribly in Doom game.

If you want encoding get Xeon 14/28 Retail for $300 (ebay). What matters here is just gaming.
