And again to get 44 PCIe you have to pay $999, no thanks. For people with SLI and Crossfire plus additional cards new 6 and 8 core do not give enough PCIe. Having said that, i recommend to skip this Intel generation and a new socket thing is just bullshit. There was no reason to go from 2011 to...
I have a problem with their 8 core offering because of lack of PCIe, so it is big f. no to me. In order to get 44 PCie you have to pay $999 so Intel really didn't do us any favor. This time around my money i on AMD. I bet they will pull 12/24 CPU for $999 giving you shit load of PCIe.
The fact that you cannot buy 44 PCIe for less than $999 is big f. no to me. 28 PCIe lines won't do it. Overclock is aggressive out of box but won't do much better than that. I already run 6900k @ 4.5Ghz on all cores really low temperatures, with slight voltage bump. Considering that my CPU has...
$499, 28 PCIe lines -> which allowed for price cut and you will be able to overclock all cores to 4.5Ghz easily, officially is one single core turbo but we all run Intel CPU differently. What i am trying to say 4.5Ghz will be possible with very little or no effort on all cores.
How do i know...
Right now, don't by x99 but buy Z2xx LGA 1151 and Kaby Lake and wait for nice upgrade to 6/12 on same socket with the highest IPC, or wait and get x299 with new Sky Lake X. I would totally not consider Ryzen.
I have been creating lately lot of custom Windows 7 installation images for people. USB3, UEFI, NVMe M2, RAID ready along with all updates integrated including IE11 and .NET 4.6.2 Framework. Basically you install it and you run Windows Update once to pick up few left overs and you are done...
Hard ocp benchmark showed that there is no performance difference between DX11 and DX12, in most cases DX11 is faster. Windows 7 time is limited but maybe not so much as Microsoft struggles to get Windows 10 market share above 25% world wide where Windows 7 ~50%
I have very similar system as...
I find that Windows 7 is still better than Windows 10. As far as DX12 it was just a bull crap so far. I have more hope in Vulcan being multiplatform API therefore being available on Windows 7 as well. Windows 10 as OS is an issue. If i was to run that thing i would run it without GUI...that's...
I installed Win10 Creators Update 16063 -> is RTM just to see if MS changed anything with Windows 10...it is still garbage. Went back to Windows 7. Will be waiting for the next major update.
I will never install Windows 10. My 10/20 cpu runs better on Windows 7 and i have better gaming and every other experience on Windows 7 than on Windows 10 and i boot Windows 7 from Nvme M.2 drive. f. MS.
Just happens that games on Ryzen run faster under Windows 7 than Windows 10. There are videos all over youtube on it. Win10 will bork system before Win7 does.
Windows 10 sucks....yelling about this pile of crap OS for years now and noone believes me. I tested the crap out of Win10 vs. Win7 across shit load of setups AMD and Intel and Win 10 is just adware pile of crap OS. Do you think that scheduling works right on Xeon 14/28 vs Windows 7...no it does...
Not all games are affected by this and to patch Windows 10 it will take time. Don't expect happening any time soon, probably not until the end of this year when Redstone 4 is out.
Temperature and voltage are way lower with Intel CPU. Ryzen can be 95W but no thanks...enormous amount of heat is being produced by it. My current Xeon 3.5Ghz 10/20 doesn't go over 27C idle and 45C under load running on really low voltage. Imagine running Ryzen with CF r390x for example...that...
For people who have AM2+ AMD this is awesome upgrade, and if you have Intel CPU meh stick with until we see what 2066 socket brings as well as 8th gen CPU for LGA1151
To me only reasonable thing is to wait for 2066 socket and SkyLake X. Don't have time for AMD mediocre CPU....too bad really. It is like their GPUs. We perform slower than Nvidia and we should be faster in the future and the future does come and do end up running faster but Nvidia has a better...
Also i said AMD went cheap with memory and PCIe controller and overall chipset which is just pile of garbage. AMD was cutting the cost in order to sell top end CPU for $499. By doing that AMD really fucked it up with gaming performance. There is a reason why 8 core Intel CPU costs $900...quad...
I would retest Ryzen with Windows 7 and i am saying this because Windows 7 does better CPU scheduling that crap called Windows 10, did lot of comparison againx 10/20 Xeon.
Hardocp had the best gaming benchmark by setting resolution so low and eliminating GPU bottleneck completely and we can see that Ryzen is not doing well. So what will happen as video cards get better and better, you will see a bigger and bigger gap between Ryzen and Intel cpus in 2k and 4k...
