small update to my home rig, still tweaking position of the second terminal but pretty happy with having two discrete systems in parallel vs. one unified system
thx for the kind words guys
having an Air and a MBP isn't actually uncommon, the two may be laptops but depending on the BTO config there can be a substantial spec diff... in my case, i am an IT consultant so the Air is a casual daily driver, small and light so i can bring it around for things...
yeah i've been using the simple VIKA AMON and ANNEFORS combo for a couple yrs now and really love how easy they are to move.... just stack the blocks and carry em after stacking the table tops, nice and easy heh
hahahaha, i may be weird but i actually find packaging to be really beautiful sometimes! as gorgeous as Apple hardware is, it is nice to see a company invest in the wrapping as well... seemed a waste to throw away XD
i enjoy headphones a lot so i have several diff sets but for primary day to day stuff i use those Denon AH-D7000s... not ultra expensive but sound great, especially when used with a good micro DAC/amp combo like you see there
for the speakers, there are 3 sets cuz off to the right there is...
hahaha i got it as a gift, they actually aren't bad.... i am always surprised at the hate i get online for posting them, it's like Dr. Dre beat these people up personally or something lol
and KARA is awesome! i like them a lot too, snsd is just my primary bias is all, u can kinda see my fav...
weirdly enuff that photo makes it look really bad cuz of the angle but if u actually sit dead in front of the screen, it's not that bad heh but thanks for the nice comment, i am upgrading to the new iMac next month so hopefully the screen isn't as 'shiny' XD
thx buddy, the white headphones r just Monster Beats HD Solo's.... there is a red cable that runs to the macbook air but i took it out from the photo cuz i don't like visible wires in my photos heh, cheers

not at all... i got them as a gift so didn't pay for them but... they sound good but, most i'd pay for them is maybe $150? max
the audioengine A2s tbh sound just as good and i got them on sale for like $160
u can actually see i moved them to my secondary rig and barely use them now unless i...
thanks buddy... as mentioned above, desks are cheap but good table tops from IKEA
i believe the shelved blocks are called VIKA ANNEFORS and the actual table tops are called VIKA AMON... just buy 2 and push them in a L shape and u have a fantastic, albeit quite large, corner computer desk lol...
picked up the Audioengine A2's this week along with a pair of M-Audio AV40's
my office is getting renovated plus i'm getting a new table coming in very soon hence the weird stacking of speakers lol... dun freak out, they are just waiting there out of the way for now until the table arrives lol...
when u get used to them in tandem, they are very useful... i use the trackpad w/ my left hand and the mouse w/ my right simultaneously for a lot of work and workflow wise, it is phenomenally productive... the various touch gestures ie. swipe, scroll, pinch zoom etc. in conjunction w/ the...
i have a couple ipods, not sure if there is any in the pic but that side of the room is already overloaded lol... there is a 27" iMac, Mac Mini and tons of other stuff on the opposite wall i am standing in front of to take that photo... that room is kinda like a hobby room/man cave lol, i spend...
for some reason i can never find this thread when i want to post lol, so i just end up posting in the regular thread
anyway, current rig... 27" iMac i7 off the right along w/ Mac mini, Airport Extreme and Time Capsule + 2TB WD extDrive
hey bud sorry to hear Mac stuff is expensive where you are =(
i'm here in Canada so it's not that bad, we're like the US's little brother to the north so prices are pretty fair hahaha... the 13" Macbook Air was around $1500CDN after tax
picked up my first pair of really nice cans today Denon AH-D5000's and Headroom's Micro DAC and Amp combination ... currently all hooked up to my Mac Mini and the experience is amazing <3
ah ic ic... maybe i am just doing it differently but i use my Apple mouse on the fat wide armrest and it is very very comfortable... i don't get any wrist strain even after hrs of use
