After some digging, ima gonna wait till this summer, when i quit my job, and have time to build a new rig, with PCIE, and go with a SLI/Crossfire set-up...... prolly keep my proc and HD's though. Thanks for your time.
I currently have a X800XTPE, and I was just notified that the EVGA has stock on their 7800GS........ is this a worth while upgrade? My System spec's are in my sig..... let me know your thoughts! :D
Well, I am limited to AGP for at least another year, would I see any noticeable difference moving up to an X850 XT PE from my X800XT PE...... I have a chance to get one at a very respectable price. Thoughts.
O well, I know the boost from my card to an AGP X850XTPE is not that much.
I had a 6800 Ultra, but I found this card to be much better. Guess I gots to wait.
My CPU temps are around 43-45 idle.... from what I have read, this seems to be hot. I am using the stock cooler.....any ideas. I am using everest and msi digicell to read from windows, and HW monitor in bios states the same.........This is a new build, and yes, I used AS5. :D

Success! It Posted and in BIOS, it reconized my Proc as an athlon 3700+!!!!!!!!! No Bios flash yet. Loading windows right now. I am pretty stoked. I will post Pics of my build after all is well and up and running... Thanks for all info.... I thought I might be in for one of the those...
Flash it before any set-up eh? I hate that. I guess I need to do my research better. I have read a few things about this board that make me uneasy. I have had great success with MSI in the past....... Maybe I will return it and buy and ASUS.
I just ordered this board: MSI K8N Neo2-F ATX AMD Motherboard
with this CPU:AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939
According to MSI's website, it is not on the supported CPU List!!!!!!!!!!!
AM I hosed? Here is the linky...
Sorry about the mispelling, I think at this point any Athlon 64 will beat my current rig..... I just really want to hold onto my X800XT PE for another year, so I gotta stay AGP. Do the MSI AGP 939 / 754 boards do well. I had one MSI board and it died on me in a matter of two months.... Maybe...
I was hoping to to keep my vid card ( AGP) I found A Gigabyte Mobo that supports S939 and AGP 4X-8X. Guess I am ready to part with my Proc and mobo now.
