I am retiring my last Westmere workstation. It is an Asus Rampage III Extreme with an Intel Xeon X5650 that runs 4.4 Ghz @1.35V. I was going to split it up and throw it on eBay, but I figure someone might be interested in the combo.
$400 shipped.
I am in the market for a 3rd Titan to complete my SLI setup.
I am willing to pay $700+ for a good card.
If you have a high ASIC card here is your chance to recoup some money. I will pay ASIC % x 10. So if you have an 85% ASIC = $850.
ASIC Score can be found in GPU-z:
I have recently switched from Phobya HeGrease to Fujipoly Ultra Extreme 0.5 mm for almost all of my TIM applications. I first used it for a direct die Haswell overclock, it worked great.
Then a couple of days ago I experimented with one of my Titans. Using the stock cooler, the Ultra Extreme...
I need air cooling.
New cards come out all the time, I want something for BF4 surround now. I will upgrade again when one card can match at least an SLI Titan setup.
Nothing lasts forever, but I think they are at least good for 5-10 years, even with MOVs. The risk of them exploding must be insignificant because they are certified for use in hospitals where sparks can be bad.
In reality, I do not they get surged that often, and major events may only happen...
It is true that unplugging them is the only way to be truly safe. But here in Florida where it cracks everyday at 3-4pm its hard to always be around to baby sit your gear.
Good surge suppressors are not sold at Home Depot. They start at $40 and go up. A quality unit will outlast all the...
When Raiden comes to visit, even a UPS may not be enough. Much of my gear is on UPS backup. The little APC 750 units can be found all over my house, at $50-60 they are the same cost as a high quality surge suppressor.
I too live in Florida and recently had a strike to the metal Brighthouse...
For the overclocked stuff: +1 for Phobya HeGrease
Its easy to clean and easy to apply. It has one of the best performance ratings available, especially if you take into account suboptimal / poor applications and weak contact pressure. This is very forgiving grease that will give you the best...

I have a feeling that as soon as the new Haswell based V2 E5-2600 xeons are released I will be replacing the file server in my rig and start the 1 million ppd party.
Top 20 points reported today. ;-) Need to add a second breaker and supply line to my office, the APCs be clixkin alot. I am reading ac voltage sags to 107 :O
Almost ciertainly you have a contact issue. Either between the core and the IHS or IHS and the HS. If you are damn sure you have mounted the HS securely to the IHS I would get a replacement cpu, or if you can't, delid that MF and fix it your self.
For those of you who are interested the most recent BIOS posted at Tech Inferno is the new sweetness. It removes all the Kepler non-sense and gives us back control like we had with Fermi cards. All the power and efficiency benefits of the stock BIOS with the ability to hand pick frequency and...
There market is increasingly filled with so called "Audiophile" and "Premium" products. Often the products are marketed by reputable peripheral brands such as Corsair and Logitech, but too often these products 100% contracted out and manufactured by the lowest Chinese producer.

The modified BIOS files are very safe. I have had my Titans for less than a week and have flashed then more than a dozen times. Start at http://1pcent.com/ and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. My biggest complaint is that my cards are not game stable at 1202 mhz. I had to use Kepler BIOS...
