OT.
Couldn't find my Kings Quest 1 Disk (maybe further down - found some spiders, though)
I still have the original IBM PC 1 from 1983 (upgraded to 512KB RAM - dual floppy, CGA monitor & CGA Card, IBM matrix printer etc.).
I started my computer career in 1983 with 13" IBM colour monitor with max. 640x200 resolution (with 2 simultaneous colours), so I really don't regard any modern monitor as low-PPI one...
I simply like to keep several windows with adequate size open, and turn my head little when setting sight to...
I have used LG 48 CX over two and a half years (both personal and telecommuting office work) for about 16 hours/day, and yet have found no problems with subpixel layout.
And have no burning problem (which had some issues with older (pre-2019) LG OLED panels and some new Samsung QD-OLED panels).
Some LD OLED's (ZX series) do support real 8K resolution.
But you need big money to buy them.
There are no CX/C1/C2 models with 8K resolution.

I agree that integer scaling looks horrible. IMO the non-integer scaled 1080p picture on my 48CX looks buch better.
But a non-scaled 1080p image on 48-inch 4K OLED produces an 24 inch picture, which is the most commonly used screen size/resolution combination in use.
We are just spoiled with...
Wow!
Did you know, that all current OLED's can do 2000Hz (pixel response time under 0.5ms)?
However, there is signalling interface that do support data bandwidth required to deliver that kind of image update speeds @2160p or even 1080p (not even DP2.1).
And there are currently no TCONs / display...
Which one did?
The oldest LG OLED television test from Rtings (september 10 2015) shows no PWM modulation.
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/ec9300-oled
In fact, as there is no backlight in any OLED display, there is no way or need to use PW modulated backlight.
Just look at this:
32-inch 3:2 IPS -monitor with 4500 x 3000 @ 90 Hz 10-bpc.

Try to create a custom resolution.

I think that AMVA is only an AOU version of VA Panel.
There are lot of AMVA panels in production, if fact, totally 71 different 4K (3840x2160) models from 43" to 85"...
Some (European) availability and price information.

Rollable 65" model (OLED65RX9LA) is quite... pricey
It was mentioned here last week, but now LG has updated that all OLED 2019 models support 4K@120 with HDR
https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1546474656
Update: LG has confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that all HDMI ports in the 2019 OLED models are full 48 Gb/s HDMI 2.1 ports...
The biggest difference is, that α9 supports 4K@120Hz HDR while α7 supports 4K@120Hz wihthout HDR (though HDR is supported with other resolutions/frequences).
HDMI 2.1 Displays are available.
LIke LG C9 -series OLED-televisions, LG SM9000/9500/9800 -series nano-IPS -televisions (Direct-lit, Full Array Local Dimming, VCC, 4K@120Hz, ALLM= Auto Low Latency Mode etc.).
Officially, they cannot claim 2.1 compatibility, as certification program for HDMI 2.1...
I have been running my Gigabyte X79-UD3 (rev1.1) with 12-core Xeon E5 2655 V2 ES with for two years now, without any problems.
Running all-core 2,8GHz, 32GB DDR3@1866MHz
I guess you can always use WIndows soft RAID solution (Storage space) for more than 2 drives
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-storage-spaces-windows-10
Simple: A simple storage space writes one copy of your data and does not protect you from driver failures. This option requires, at...
In OLED displays, every subpixel (red, green, blue and white (if white is used)) will omit it's light straight form the OLED subpixel level. Each subpixel luminance level is kept constant (no refreshing required) until the subpixel luminance changes.
Because there is on backlight, no PWM...
In the graphics card side: I quess there may be a tiny possibility that the current hardware might support HDMI 2.1 (full banddwidth). At least nVidia started to promise dp1.3 and 1.4 support with Pascal chipset, even tough those standards were not fully ready, so final dp1.3 & 1.4 support will...
I think this is the latest 30-incher:
Dell UltraSharp UP3017
- no narrow bezels
- no Freesync / gsync
- heavy price

Then, there is NEC MD MD302C6 with 3280x2048 resolution (16:10)...
This display has been canned.

UP3017Q was canceled due to unresolvable image quality problems. Specifically, according to les Numériques, the issue was color drift when viewing the monitor off-angle.

I really wonder which is this Seiki 6 bit 40" 4K panel.
All current 39-41-inch 4K-panels are either 10 bit or 8/10 bit ones.
I really doubt that they are going to use some proprietary 6bit 4K -panels...
(Seiki 39)
1. Would like to but can live without
2. Yes
3. 120Hz@1080 is still nice to have. I would like to have 4K@60Hz as Displayport SST mode (but MST is ok is the new Tcon doesn't support 4K@60Hz in SST mode). Would be very nice if scaling to lower resolutions (2560x1440, 1920x1080) is...
