Oh I see! It looks like the dimensions are much larger:
1U: 81.5 mm (W) x 40.5 mm (H) x 170 mm (D)
HDPlex: 51.5 (W) x 30 (H) mm x 160(L)
As the V3 is specifically compatible with the HDPlex, I imagine you'd have to perform a very creative mod to make it fit.
Ohhh I see what you're saying, I misread the first part of your post. I am using the modded brick yes, which is fine, but a completely internal solution would be best, I agree. I don't really know where you'd put this converter, especially with the 120mm AIO, but it would be fun to figure out.

tl;dr: it is...
Zotac 1080 mini has two fans, gigabyte mini has one. I recommend checking out some reviews on differences between mini cards and their performance, acoustics, and thermals; it seems like we may not be working off the same set of data. Either way, it does sound like you've narrowed down your...
The fan under the PSU does help a little with motherboard temps, though I never noticed any appreciate CPU as I was using the 92mm AIO already. It did not feel worth the turbulence noise it generates overall.
The external power brick I use with my HDPlex is somewhat bulky, but the entire...
The difference between blower and non blower typically comes down to which is more important: keeping the card cool (non-blower) or keeping the rest of your computer cool (blower). You can undervolt and tweak fan curves to control acoustics and heat, though out of the box non-blowers are...

Here is a post containing my two previous V2 92mm AIO builds, all of which I was able to close the side panel on without issue. RAM choice matters, you need to have low profile ram.
I have an EVGA FTW 1080 and the fans spin slowly enough up until about 45% that I almost confuse them with noctua fans.
Almost.
Yeah it's a thing but compared to the CPU side my experience has been less...uh...turbulent.
V2 and V3 support a 92mm AIO from asetek which is perfectly fine. It's likely within your sound tolerance, but just because a person can tolerate lots of sound doesn't mean they sounds. While I found the 92mm AIO with noctua fan an acceptable noise to heat ratio (44C idle, 75C gaming load with...
Sebbie I would say so, because you plug it directly onto the motherboard have have about the same clearance restrictions as the CPU cooler, a little less maybe. The width makes me think that you couldn't fit the AIO bracket on the same side, if that was something you were interested in...
The HDPlex 400w (https://www.hdplex.com/hdplex-400w-hi-fi-dc-atx-power-supply-16v-24v-wide-range-voltage-input.html) You should probably also buy the mounting bracket (https://www.hdplex.com/hdplex-atx-sfx-adapter-bracket.html). The PSU comes with the bracket but NOT the mounting screws.
PSA: Turns out building a PC in a hotel late at night, leaving parts everywhere and forgetting to clean up can lead to...misunderstandings about what you're actually doing.
I managed to electrical tape the choke back in place. You can't see it in the b-roll below, which makes me feel better...
Ohhhh that's what those are for! That's silly of me. Thank you for clarifying!
There's no space with my current gpu. Might work with a mini. Also the included PSU cable is very short, I'm not 100% certain it would reach. Sorry I didn't have a pic with the GPU already, could have sworn I did...
It depends; if you're using the 92mm AIO then no, not if you want to close the side panel. I used Corsair vengeance ram because they were low profile.
However, if you're on a v3 and using a 120mm AIO then it shouldn't be an issue.
Just wanted to drop some install notes before I forget for anyone interested in using either the HDPlex PSU or the NZXT M22 120mm AIO in the Dan case v3.
- This AIO (M22) is not on Dan's supported AIO list, but if you use a 120x15mm fan you're fine. The CPU block is exactly 48mm tall, the rad...
I have, with Corsair vengeance ram. If you check my post history you can see my entire process. Doesn't work with G Skill or other tall memory modules.
Mine also arrived. Very excited to further optimize my Ryzen build. Will be moving to a 400W HDplex PSU and NZXT M22 120mm AIO with noctua 15mm fan this weekend. Pics to follow.
As mentioned, there is a fan under the board. Helps, but this AM4 board still runs toasty. Having an 8 core processor in such a small space gives few favors here.
I have the AIO with an 1800X and it keeps the CPU around 43 C idle and any 75-80 C under load. Note, you can't use g.skill tridents with the AIO if you want to close the side panel.
The Asus strix 350-i (b and x are exactly the same, construction and everything unless you plan to use...
dondan There isn't enough voltage at play to provide enough electromagnetism to penetrate human skin past the shielding that's available and through the metal of the case. The only real concern is that other electrical signals could interfere with it's operation, or vice versa, but even still...
Try this 15" monitor from gechic: https://www.gechic.com/en-portable-monitor-onlap1503h-overview.html not sure about the refresh rate, but it has HDMI input (proprietary connector)
Thanks, I thought this was coming out next year not in 3 weeks.
dondan - Did you decide if you were going to put in a mounting point for a fan beneath the motherboard? You mentioned that you would look into some pages back; just hoping for a firm yes/no.
