I have an old 4790k system that has a Corsair memory stick that had a heat spreader fall off. Any recommendations for some thermal tape to get it back on? It has been stiing in my closet for years and my son has been going to Washburn University and wants to turn it into a Linux box.

It might not even need it too, if they're LP they may run cool.

If the clips are broken or if it didn't have any, I've used a dab of CA glue on each IC on a cheap kit to get by. Worked fine, as long as you don't take off the spreader again

There are no clips. The tape is what holds on the heat spreaders.

Rubber bands can fail quick (within months) if subjected to thermals. Use tape or glue.
