Compare these GPU's - Do I accept?

You say the card that they're offering is a rev1 card. If memory serves, that means it is a FHR card; so likely made before May or June. Thus, likely a refurb. Offside is, being a FHR card, it is worth more to the right second hand buyer.

I dont know what it is like buying from across the line entails these days, but you could just get the cash and buy from a user here maybe? Maybe a second hand card in Vancouver or Seattle...that is assuming you can do a border crossing. I remember the good old days when you just crossed...ID was optional.
Wasn't Seattle wonderful until California showed up? Don't suggest he come here, chances are good he'd get shot.

Oh, okay. Got it. That makes it a lot harder. The online prices are horrible - even when a decent price comes about, it's only for a short time and the card gets sold out and 'returns' at a higher price. I sent a few links of cards just above your $930 - if you are trying to get a card for that price including tax - it will be even more difficult - if you want a 3070 or 3070 Ti, that is. If you can find a bit extra $ to cover tax, you should be able to find a card online - if you are willing to wait a bit. If you ultimately go for a 3060 Ti - I would try to get a Strix or something like that - don't get Gigabyte - RMAs for Canadian customers - they have to send the card to the USA - EVGA, too - but, the EVGA customer service is usually pretty good. I'd try to find an ASUS or MSI card.
Alternatively, like others are suggesting - to get a used card - but, then I would be afraid of the lack of warranty - and if it was mined - stuff like that.
-Not interested in a used or refurbished card.
-Ya, I had to RMA a Gigabyte card and pay for shipping. Bad CS, never again.
-$900-ish before taxes is fine with me. I'm ok with paying $100 more for a 3070ti and maybe a good 3070.. What I don't wanna have to do is upgrade my PSU, so if I were to get a 3070/3070 Ti and I find out that it doesn't wanna play nice with my current PSU, wouldn't be happy about that. Should be fine with my current PSU but you never know.
-EVGA has great CS I usually buy their cards but at the time I was buying the components for this computer GB was all I could get. It was all that was in stock. There were shortages on other components too.
-Heard good things about ASUS lately in the quality control department for their GPUs.
-Not sure how I feel about buying cards from Amazon, don't really trust 'em for an item like that. Various sellers sell knock-offs of certain expensive goods on that platform and pass it off as the real deal. I don't trust that site for these kinds of purchases.
-Why Asus or MSI? Easy returns from Canada? Don't pay for shipping?

The links I sent - was from the 'Asus store' - should be legit and safe. I agree, I wouldn't have sent links from peculiar 3rd party sellers - either Amazon or name brand stores. The Dual and Ko cards came to about $165 extra for you - 'did the math. They were both 3070s - probably an overpay - but not too much. Best Buy supposedly has a 3070 for $900-ish - but, I hate their website. First, the page shows 'will ship' - and then it shows 'sold out online' when you click the link. YMMV. You can inquire yourself, if you want. I know some people price match with them.
Asus and MSI have RMA centers in the Toronto area. So, at least, the card stays in Canada. I got an EVGA card but I was going to a store to pick up an Asus Tuf - it was sold by the time I got there and I took what they just got in.

3070ti with no accessories and a 2 year warranty.

Both in stock and ready to ship. All you have to do is go to their website and check their inventory of whats available. They actually have been having some 10xx and 20xx series cards in their B-stock.
Fen, don’t delay, act now, supplies are running out. Allow if you’re still alive, 6 to 8 years to arrive…

Yeah, that card would've been very nice for the price but they don't have them in stock anymore. When I called Canada Computers they said they had 30 in and they were sold in less than 10 minutes. I don't think I can win at this game of trying to grab them that quickly. :( So I may have to buy something I don't ideally wanna buy.
They seem to have the card available online as part of a bundle with a mainboard (you can always just sell the board when you get it). It was added to my card and let me start the checkout process.

This card is shipped by an online(?) store (located in BC) - it's bit pricey but they do have a website. Check Shipping 'Details' of any card - and it will reveal the seller. I think this card would be 'safe' - i.e. not risky or shady. At least, it would be brand new.

I would check for sales like this or periodically, something comes up on newegg - that is a so-so price - also, add cards to your 'wish list' - create an account and use pcpartpicker to send you notifications if a price drops to a level you are willing to take.

Also Best Buy Canada is shipping EVGA 3070 for $900 CAD. But that TUF 3070 ti for $870 is hard to beat price wise which is why I would just watch for it.

Otherwise wait for Best Buy to have a larger drop again and try to get an FE. They also might have a few cards locally in stock for buy online pick up in store.

That converts to $600 CAD plus he'd have to pay shipping/import fee. I guess that's not bad except I'm not sure what the total would ultimately be.
Otherwise - you have to constantly check those websites we gave him - the sale appears suddenly and it will sell out quickly - just an annoying waiting game.

If I remember correctly someone mentioned it cost $45 CAN to ship a card from EVGA into Canada. Don't quote me on that exact price. Personally I would go for one of the 3070ti's from them. Currently out of stock but I'm sure will be back in stock in a few days.
