Sound and Spark when shutting down

Any idea what this spark and sound is all about? This is a new CPU.

can you get a better pic of what is in that spot? maybe take the side off, turn off the disco lights and get in there closer...

ah so the flash is just the led reflecting funny. the noise... not sure. could just be the psu turning off. did you build this? if so, did you test it out of the case before assembly?

Definitely an LED.

No I didn't build this myself. Seems to be on the led but not sure what's with the sound. Is it any indication that an issue on the led itself needs to be change or something to do with off indicator?

youll have to try and isolate where the noise is coming from. if there is a speaker on the mobo it could just be a pop as it powers off, same could go for the psu, etc, could just be a noisy led too.

Sounds like coil whine (or some other high energy/frequency noise), maybe some capacitors discharging through some coils?

Does this every time? Tried with no external peripheral attached (inc monitor)? What PSU are you using? Edit: nvm, inplay? Never heard of that brand...

Yes, will try to isolate them later on to determine what causes the noise. Thanks guys

I'm very surprised nobody has questioned the no-name power supply "Inplay gs450pro". It has a grand total of three pages of google results, almost all of which are either from foreign language sites complaining it's garbage, or alibaba copycats selling it in foreign countries. There's no website or any information showing who made it.

The 80Plus rating is fake, and pictures of the inside of the unit I've found show it to be a trash tier power supply that has no business existing.

OP, trash that power supply and get a reputable unit before it kills the entire system. I suspect that when the PSU is turning off, it's doing something very nasty, like sending a voltage spike to the board, or going far out of regulation as it's powering down. It'd explain the funny noises from the speaker and strange motherboard behavior.

Yeeeaaah. Get rid of that PSU.
