What is the "Bentley" in terms of build quality of cases?

Let's say price doesn't matter, what is the best, highest quality construction and tolerances cases you guys know of?

None of those $100-$300 cases, you're not likely to find that kind of build quality. But are there any specialist computer case makers that do a luxury-grade class of cases?

i dont think any exist anymore unless you are buying from a boutique builder.

I would say the closes thing today is probably the TJ07 MurderBox currently being sold thru Titan Rig- https://www.titanrig.com/catalog/pr...-mkii-limited-edition-chassis-0110xf010101on/.

Always wanted one but not willing to shell out over $1K for a fully loaded version. Some of the limited edition Inwin cases such as the 928 and 909EK are right up there.

I'm currently looking at getting an Inwin 925.
they just use off the self cases though...
here the one special case though: https://xforma.com/ for $1300 it better be perfect...

What do you mean? It's the same case is in the other link. It does look nice, but maybe $600 max nice. $1300 is wow territory for that, without seeing/feeling it in person at least. But this is weird for such an expensive case maybe:
We stand behind our products and therefore the MBX MKII carries a one year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Only one year warranty. I guess you'd likely see any defects within a year, so I suppose it's reasonable at the end of the day?

Back in the day the Cooler Master ATC 201 cases were top quality aluminum construction. Now days its all cheap Japanese Steel.

I will say, the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX case has excellent build quality and rolled edges. Its the best build quality I've seen since the vintage CoolerMaster days, the airflow sucks however. https://phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-ATX-TemperedGlass.html

How much did the ATC 201 go for back then roundabouts?

i mean that all their cases except that one are just regular off the shelf cases you can buy anywhere, ie: not boutique.

I have seen cases on videos that are 15 thousand dollars US. Although that kind of thing does not really interest me.

Probably jewelry and diamond engraved or something like that :p 👌
Wow. What would justify a $15 thousand dollar computer case? If it was passively cooled, I could see it.

I am not sure they were much to do with being practical or high performance. Maybe more of an expensive and unique item for those who can afford it. I wish I could find the video.

Corsair Obsidian 900D
My buddy had one of these. The case is a monster. He had a watercooled set up in it. Basically, once you build in it, you don't wanna move it. Plenty of room inside though. He took it to QuakeCon one year, we had to use a cart to lug it around lol.

There was a time when it was CoolerMaster... then they went all "gamerz" (smoke and dragons, plastic and stuff, maybe not so much with the HAFs). Lian-Li, also had some good runs. Silverstone had some.

Anymore, with the high power (heat) situations, we're forced almost back to steel case frames and lots of holes.

But, there are plenty of case reviews out there.

In Win has several limited edition, special cases for several hundred to several thousand dollars. Some of them are just weird.

If you can find one, newegg had them in stock not long ago but they appear to be sold out again, the Thermaltake W100 is a well built case. I have a friend that has one with the an additional P100 under it to hold his water pump and power supply. It is a large, heavy case, and moving it once he had it built was a huge pain. Newegg does have the W200 in stock, which is a double width version so you can put a setup in both sides for a dual computer case.

Idk; you say that but from what I've seen and read about the FormD T1 (small form factor) the tolerances are tight and the construction is excellent, with various users stating it's the best machined case they've handled (which isn't a given when one reads how inconsistent the QA can be on some competing machined cases).

That said would it correct to read into your Bentley analogy that you're looking for more than just quality machining/finishing and further elements such as QoL features, accessories and such?

Probably not in the same league as cases of the past, but I've found Sliger cases to be some of the most rugged around. Made in the USA and all that. Mostly small form factor designs though (and rackmount stuff too)

Custom CNC.. like some of the inwins above. If you truly want whatever you can think of get in touch and I can make it happen.

Hell yeah, these are awesome! Might have to order one for my emulator machine.

You're not getting "quality", but uniqueness, which is another word for "hey sucker! Pay me more for this crap that's just bent in a different way, and no one else bothers to make it".
Just as a footnote this is only true for cases that aren't CNC machined (which tbf is the vast majority out there, even of many pricey custom cases).

I never understood why people pay so much money for simple things. I guess because some people can.

In some specific cases, those simple things may be hand made, unique or of the absolute highest quality. In other cases, they pay for things like that because they are dumb.

Singularity makes some cool looking cases. No experience with them, but they are pricey.

Ehhh... I wouldn't say that. Up until very recently I was using a Lian Li case from 2005. The stock airflow absolutely sucked but I extended the feet to be taller by cutting and staining some 2x4 pieces of wood. Then I mounted a couple 180mm intake fans on the bottom of the case. And also modded the side panel and added a couple 120mm intake fans to provide cool air to the GPU.

That was the coolest running case I have ever had. Had to switch cases though because of the IceGiant cooler I switched to.

With a bit of modding, most any case can have great airflow.
