When will it be possible to buy a Zen 3 cpu without using a bot or paying Scalper rates?

I was able to snag one of those 5950X Newegg combos thanks to distill.io. I'd really prefer a Crosshair Dark Hero board but maybe I'll settle with the Crosshair Hero that came bundled. WoW is going to be keeping me busy this coming week so maybe that will distract me enough.

PayPal seems to be the way to go for payments if it's an option. I wasn't able to get to the next screen with the Newegg checkout until I used the PayPal option.

I just don't think they get enough of the 5950x's. Just like the other day when there were bundles for like 30-40 minutes or the lower models. Three times today I saw the 5950 come in at Newegg but couldn't get it in the cart and after about 30 seconds to a minute the odd to cart button was gone.

Nice! I hope paypal isn't a requirement. I was planning on sticking it on my NewEgg CC and paying for it over the next 12 months. :)

I kept trying the one with RAM as I did not wont to have to return a motherboard. I got a 3080 cobo with RAM and the RAM came later from the East coast and the card came from CA and I got it first.

I just got back from Tustin MC. They had 16 5800x and 1 5900x. They had sold out of the everything but luckily the guy found two more in the back or some such. The guy behind me was looking for a 5800x too. We did an air five, booyah.

**Just booted it up and running 3800/1900 w/o issue with soc still on auto voltage. I'll probably start on 2000 if in a lil while.

It's even faster if you do Apple pay. That's how I managed to snag the 5900x bundle from Newegg and of course the 3080 restock a week after release.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I've passed on a 5800x recently about 4 times. Haven't seen the 5900

Welp I decided to keep the 5950x and pass the 5900x to my buddy. Gotta go big! Going to order this to go w/the CPU:

1. Strix X570-E mobo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SW8DQVL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2. EKWB Quantum block: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084DJV5YD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Gotta wait for the mobo to get in stock and then start on the build. Can't wait! My first AMD build since 2006..god damn!
You're in for a treat! :) I switched from Intel to a 2700X two years ago. I do a lot of work in a VM and the continuous "patches" to fix the Intel security issues was making my work unbearably slow. Haven't regretted the switch, and looking forward to seeing how much more productive I can be with a 5950X! :)

You might consider the MSI boards as they have the more mature bios. Asus has been shit so far with bios updates.

Its funny because I will be doing the exact opposite with my buddy. He got (well technically I got him) a 5900X during today's Best Buy drop and I've had my 5950X since launch. He is a part time photographer/videographer, usually records weddings for people so he could use the 16 cores a lot more than I will for his editing. I mostly use my PC for gaming. We're going to swap when his 5900X comes in on Tuesday.

Finally got through amazon for a 5800x, after having to complete five additional steps to log in. I thought I was going to have to completely reset my account for a minute, I can't believe it was still available. I think I saw that CPU go in and out of stock around 30 times, never could add it to cart till now. Finally I can start picking up parts for a secondary build and find a use for the 4670k system, maybe as an HTPC for madvr. I am fine with waiting as long as I have a concrete order, unlike with Tiger 🐯 who axed mine.

Canceled order, will wait for 5900x stock. My big cooler is hungry for a big processor.

Nope it was just dumb luck, I was away from computer for most of day, just had a bookmark to amazon amd page, checked it and it showed a price on the 5800x. As much time as it took me to get into my account(probably 4 mins) I was shocked I could still add to cart, the last few dozen times I tried it was never added to cart.

I thought hard about keeping the 5900x but figured its $250 more and the 16 cores would be a pretty massive core count upgrade vs 12 cores coming from my 9900k. Maybe now i can stream via x264 in obs without taking a performance hit while gaming.

Well, I managed to get this order in tonight. I basically have 2 preorders between this and BH. I have a feeling I’ll get my BH order first, though, since I was early enough to not get a delay email. Even assuming I’d get the Amazon order well before January (pretty much every Amazon order I’ve seen has had the ship date moved up).

the 5800X is currently in stock at Amazon...shows a delivery date of December but I'm sure that will be moved up...

Placed the 5800X order on Amazon. Ill cancel it if 6800XTs become available before it ships tho.

It's also saying that it'll be delivered from Dec 23-28.

I also placed the Amazon order for the 3rd time. I have cancelled 2 5800X orders and 1 5600X order. I have also passed on 2 opportunities to purchase it locally. Still don’t understand why I need a 5000 series for gaming as I checked all benches and my current system matches 5800/5600 benches at 1440P.

lol, like a tug of war. Good luck with the final decision.

Surprisingly my tiger direct 5900x order shipped already.
you got lucky, they cancelled my order automatically without notifying me. I'm still waiting for my refund, if I don't see it by monday I'm going to dispute and initiate a chargeback. Those fuckers can kiss my ass!

Snagged a 5800x on Amazon that has a January delivery. Was updated within a few hours to December 7. Might be interested in trading someone for a 5600x plus cash if they did not open packaging. Still on the fence, just building a gaming only rig, not sure the extra $150 is worth it.

Just saw the 5800X available on Amazon and ordered. Expected delivery Jan 7-17. At least I'm in line...

I've had good luck with MSI boards so far and was planning on MSI for the 5950x. However I'm not thrilled with the "MSI Command Center" fan controls (I have a lot of fans in my case for airflow ... ambient temp can be in the 90s (F) here in the summer), and it seems MSI no longer updates this software and is now using "MSI Dragon Center" which many people say is awful. Any thoughts on better fan control software?

I did the same. I don’t really want it, I want the 5900. Hopefully I can find it before this ships. Also, it seems you can only order from the Amazon app. I’ve tried for days on a pc and it would never add to cart.

Yeah, I am going to wait for the 5950X. I am hoping they can catch up with demand in a few weeks.

Only thing that sucks is with black Friday coming, most ppl want to get parts with the sales. Then u have to wait until youre lucky enough to find a new CPU. And u can't be sure if the parts u bought are DOA, crap, etc..... Covid and everyone home makes CPU shopping such a pain....

You’re not crazy - I’ve had a couple chances to get a 5800x in a reasonable timeframe and passed. I have the week of Christmas off and would like to build my new system then, but I doubt I’ll find a 5900x or 5950x by then.

Did you try to do it via BIOS? Thats what I'm planning on doing with my tomahawk x570 when I get my 5900x. I'm currently doing this on my asrock mobo. A little painful at the beginning during testing but it is one of these things.... set it and forget it afterwards :)

The good thing for me is I don't need it, I just want it, lol.

LOL-True.... U wanna know something... I think I just OCD and obsess on getting the bleeding edge hardware or close to it. I spent over a month in the EVGA que and scored my FTW3 3090 Ultra last week. Guess what? I have spent literally more time scouring the Webz for a god damn AMD cpu then enjoying my new video card....It's crazy what we do for our tech obsessions

I feel like I'm in the same boat with like every single piece I'm shopping for. 5900x (speaks for itself), Velocita x570 mobo is nowhere to be found, new Trident Z neo kits are nowhere to be found and for whatever reason even the WD SN850 2TB SSD i'm looking for is out of stock perpetually everywhere

i feel like I can't seem to get anyone to take my money

That's a decent idea, if it can adjust based on load!
