Convince me to buy this game?
What is the gameplay like?

I wish someone would convince me not to get it, I don't like wasting money. But it looks to be right up my ally since I like story driven open world games and I've only bought 2 games this year (RE3 and Death Stranding) and I'm dying for something else to help hold me over until Cyberpunk.

Comparing to a trailer is nothing but clickbait, in my opinion.

Even if its not a valid 1:1 comparison it still demonstrates the improved reflections and difference in dynamic foliage. To me the color saturation/vibrancy also looks better on the PC.

What sold me was the impressive work they put into the graphic settings options, as seen in the menu previews in the trailer - a breath of fresh air from PC's sad history of bad/lazy ports. More developers are taking the time these days and it's great to see.

Hope this game sells like crazy so the dev/publisher take PC more seriously going forward

CDkeys has it for ~$46 - they seem more legit than G2A and Kinguin to me.

yesterday GMG had it for $46 as well during their Summer Sale...I almost bit but held out thinking it will drop a bit more (especially with GMG codes)

Yeah it seems a bit high considering I paid $20 for the PS4 Disc version and $15 for the digital complete PS4 version. I do plan on getting it, though I am on the fence if I should wait or not for a price drop. If it was a GoG version I wouldn't hesitate at full price but it's going to have Denuvo and steam so I definitely want a DRM penalty discount of at least ~25% to buy it again.

Has Denuvo been confirmed or are you just assuming that?

Nothing official but Japanese companies seem to really like Denuvo. Plus, Sony literally created Denuvo in the first place (before splitting the division off into a separate company).

Horizon: Zero Dawn PC system requirements released

I'm interested, but I've never been a fan of third-person shooters. I'm not paying more than 20 bucks for this (especially if you have more than a cursory amount of bow firing required)

you're missing out on some amazing 3rd person action games- the Rocksteady Arkham games, Mass Effect etc

If you think that I have not played both batman arkham and! Maas effect you have another thing coming. For me, both games are broken I in completely different ways.

Mass Effct1 has some of the most broken shooting I've ever encountered, and felt like I was playing a rail shooter.

Batman Arkham City was a solid game in terms of smoothness of combat, but itt just got boring and repetitive, much like every other pure melee game does for me.

About the only 3rd-person games that have ever held my attention were the 3d Zelda games. I'd rather jump and do a MIX of things than just stand there and shoot or stand there and punch.

For every other game category aside from platformer, you have to go full-on first--person(keyboard and mouse), or you need to go 2d-only. I just don't have the accuracy or line up a target in 3d-space on a controller, and It feels strange playing 3rd-person games with mouse.

So, anyine want totell mee just how much shooting you have to do in Zero Dawn?

Definitely a lot, but a bow is only one of your weapons, as you get a sling, a tripwire weapon, a tiedown weapon, and of course a melee attack that can one-shot most enemies if you sneak up on them. You also get abilities and ammunition that corrupts or recruits machines to fight for you, which was one of my favorite parts just to watch the battles and also make some encounters much easier.

I love corrupting bots to attack each other. :ROFLMAO: Controlling them is even better though.

A lot of everything in this game and it's really good. I highly recommend it to anyone that's even remotely a fan of these types of games. This PC version looks like it's really going to do it right.

Got my steam pre-order ready to go....just trying to power through that turd of a game Mafia 3 before HZD releases so I can at least cross it off my backlog of shame.

LOL. That game should have been and could have been more.

Y-targeting made Zelda shooting acceptable, so did they implement something like that in Zero Dawn, or I guess I could figure out corruption?

Doesn't sound too bad :D Still interested, but still going to wait for sale.

Horizon Zero Dawn PC Day-One Patch

Guerrilla Games’ action-RPG releases on PC this Friday, and apparently, the title will receive a day-one update to fix several issues that early-reviewers have been reporting...according to our Sony PR contact, this day-one patch is now scheduled to arrive this Thursday and will address some optimization and stability issues...

in addition, AMD is working on new optimized drivers for the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn following some reports about unintended visual or performance behavior when using certain AMD GPUs...as these drivers are still being worked on, AMD recommends users to use the latest optional Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.7.2 drivers in case you’re experiencing these issues...
