Horizon: Zero Dawn coming to PC

$50 is kinda steep but I'm still in. I think I only paid like $20 or less for the PS4 version.

Yeah, I really expected it to be $30 or so considering it's $20 on PS4 even before sales. I love the game, but might wait for first sale before getting it on PC, esp. since Sony is already into me $130 within a month between TLoU 2 and Ghosts of Tsushima soon. It's definitely worth it though if you've never played it before.

Can't wait for DF's tech analysis and comparison to the PS4 version now too.

if you waited for bargains then, wait now?!

I didn't really wait, I just didn't end up getting a PS4 until Monster Hunter World came out, so by then HZD was pretty cheap. If any game is worth full price, though, I'd say this one is.

I'm sure before release we'll see some discounts on GMG or something.

The only reason I would buy this is if it led to Bloodborne getting a port. Otherwise, this is "just another open world game loop" you've been playing for the last decade.

even if this is a straight up port of the PS4 version I'm all in...I don't have a PS4 and this game was one of the reasons I was debating picking one up...Day 1 buy

Supposed it would be $40, $50 is higher than I thought. Didn't think it would be $20 with all the DLC.

Wish it came out sooner though we have Death Stranding coming in a few days. More interested in the concept of DS, but the gameplay seems tedious. But this game looks funner to play so was looking forward to this more.

In for $50, no brainer. This is a AAA if ever there was one.

Complaining about the price because there are used console copies for $10 is the wrong way to look at it. PC will be the definitive edition. I just finished RDR2 PC again and it was so much more of an experience at 4K60 with all the eyecandy maxed, than the console version I tried for a few hours and bailed on to wait for the real thing.

I bailed the PC copy of RDR2 after 2 hours, because it was so boring.
I'm not sure this is worth the $50 if you already had the complete edition on ps4. But if you're new to the game then sure it's a must have.

Was close to doing the same to, but was worth to continue playing it. But not a great game although still fun.

I'll see if Horizon lives up to the hype.

If its a quality port and lives up to the hype, I'll go in for it. I expect that GMG or Humble will be able to get it to me for at least 20%+ discounted, so that will make the price better. Given that it is a "complete edition" with all DLC included and hopefully a viable high quality port, I don't necessarily decry them pricing it at $50 even though I would have liked to see it cheaper. Much like Death Stranding, I'm interested in purchasing the game but I also want to send a strong signal to Sony to give up on console exclusives and bring these titles to PC - via Steam and without any by contract store/platform exclusivity.

Ideally I'd like to see them released concurrently or soon after console release and/or be significantly cheaper given the delay, but in these cases I'm willing to invest a reasonable amount in ensuring these games are brought to PC via Steam properly. The real telling bit will be if the sequel, scheduled for PS5 release, is also going to come to PC and if it will be concurrent or close to launch.

I think $50 is fair. It doesn't matter if it's a few years old, it's new to PC, and it looks like a solid effort (unlocked fps, ultrawide support, etc.).

I even have the game on PS4, but I never played it and as soon as I heard a PC version was coming I waited.

Pre-ordered on Steam. If you want Sony to port more exclusives to PC, vote with your wallet. End message.

The price is a lot higher than I expected, but IF the port is well done and if they put a lot of work into making it feel like a proper PC title than it's probably worth it.

Funny thing is, that they'd make more profit off games by becoming just a regular publisher and releasing games on multiple platforms. But selling games is not their main source of income, it's a means to an end, so don't expect many exclusives to be ported, especially not within a reasonable timeframe. Not that 3.5 years is reasonable.

I bought PS4 Pro mainly so I can play this game and The Last of Us.
I regret. It's pretty terrible compared to PC AAA RPGs.
The visuals were OK, the world size fine, but every town featured the same merchants. And I never understood the whole "stones and sticks vs robots" part.
I had a rant somewhere on this forum about how much I disliked it. I don't even remember all the issues. But being a long time open world RPG player, I have high requirements. Horizon failed.

Fortunately The Last of Us, Until Dawn and Battle Chasers redeemed my console purchase.

I just hope they get mouse and keyboard right. I wanted to like this on PS4 but I sucked with DS controller and made the game frustrating to play.

No deals anywhere means the game isn't getting a physical release. It's direct to steam. Strange that they'd skip physical entirely.

I know of at least one. :D

I will be one when it hits $30 or so. I would pay $50 for it (which is more than I paid for it on PS4 only 3 months after its release during a PSN sale) if it somehow included RTX/DLSS features, but I know that's pretty wishful thinking and not even sure the Decima engine supports that in its current state.

Added to my wishlist on Steam. Looks like you can get 50 hours of game time if you do everything.

Yeah, I think I had 55-60 hours in the game on my first play through, then the Frozen Wilds DLC added like another 10-15 hours to the game as well. That is with me doing absolutely all side quests and collecting weapons/mods before finishing the main campaign though because it was one of those games that I didn't want to end and I wanted to milk everything I could out of the game before finishing it too, which I still replayed it again after that as well on NG+ on Ultra Hard. All said and done I'm pretty sure I put over 100 hours into the game, which is a lot for me, as I've never put more than that into a single player game before other than maybe Pokemon red/blue/yellow when I was a kid.

I think at this point physical releases are dead for the PC, most of the more reccent ones I bought were just codes in a box anyways.

I think physical presence in malls, plus the promotion done by local retailers can be a big boost for sales. Without physical release none of that happens.

Spoiling sucks regardless of how long something has been out.

Well at least he didn't really spoil anything, as that's only a small fraction of the explanation of how the machines came to be and also irrelevant to one of the other major story arcs.

The story to me is quite awesome. Wish some people would give it a chance. Really looking forward to the sequel.

Eh? There is no physical presence for PC games anymore. The only physical games you can get is old stock places like Walmart don't throw out. The last of physical releases only had a disc to install steam at most with a code in it. Steam should be really pushing this game on their store front tho.

Same, seems a lot of it was lost on some people playing it who got hung up or distracted by other game play mechanics as well. I'll def be getting a PS5 just to play the sequel among other PS exclusives.

Anyone know if DLSS 2.0 going to be in HZD like Death Stranding? I haven't followed it too much, but already pre-ordered both games been deliberately avoiding spoilers on both games since they released.

I didn't even know Death Stranding was going to support DLSS, which is surprising since I haven't seen a game only support one or the other with RTX and DLSS. Given that they're both on the same (Decima) engine, it would be nice if Horizon supported it, but no such info suggests it does from a quick search that I see at least.

Guess nobody told CDPR. The fools planning physical copies of Cyberpunk 2077.

For PC? I haven't seen anything about that. Maybe a physical collectors thing but there will be no disc with it I am sure. Just a download code.
