Have any of you ever been abducted too / also?

"Until now, however, none appeared to have come from our own galaxy.

The latest discovery was announced in The Astronomer's Telegram by Paul Scholz, of the University of Toronto, Canada, on behalf of the CHIME (Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment) and FRB Collaboration.

In it, the team announced the detection of a bright radio burst coming from the active magneter known as SGR 1935+2154. This is a type of neutron star, the collapsed core of a massive star, that is thought to have an extremely powerful magnetic field."

any of you guys also been abducted? just curious if anyone else has on here

Yeah, my gf, grandfather and I were once at her bar a long time ago. We were on my grandfathers Cherokee Indian reservation and he even came to visit me at the bar to tell me he "sensed great change on the winds" and that "I would need of him this night", but I immediately dismissed his Indian gibberish and started talking to my gf at the bar. Then some dudes got handsy with my gf behind the bar and I had to beat them down and before we could even process what happened the jukebox suddenly cut to "(Don't fear) The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult (the SNL Cowbell skit song for the laymen) and we saw bright lights coming through the window and a truck flying up into the air, then the bar crumbling around us and the roof came off allowing us to all get sucked into their ship. I managed to escape their restraints on the ship when I came to on board, then saw my gf and grandfather a few times being transported on a conveyor system they had before they impaled my grandfather (along with many others) with a bunch of spikes before seemingly harvesting his body. But after hours of navigating their ship with a bunch of teleporters and gravity switches, killing a bunch of aliens along the way, I finally found my gf who they'd mutilated and combined with some other nasty alien creature with laser turrets on its sides, so I had to put her out of her misery unfortunately with the other weapons I'd procured on the ship. After that I found another human who'd survived their abduction centuries ago and they'd made into their leader of sorts and given nearly infinite power, but obviously I still killed her so I could take her place and then drove their ship into the sun to kill them all. I'm only here and alive still through because my grandfather pulled me into our Cherokee nether-realm where I spoke to him and my gf one last time before they transported me back to Earth still.

That was also the last time I drank tequila.

Happens every night, usually I am in the same spot I remeber being in before the abduction, usually.

We're using alien technology and its called the Internet. I know because Youtube videos about the subject says so.....

It seems like the comments on any news story involving cosmic phenomenon is full of juvenile or political jokes. I think there is no better gauge of a person's IQ than how they react to these sorts of stories.

"Derp derp there no intelligent life on Earth."

"Derp derp post a pic of the "But it's aliens!" guy."

"Derp derp your anus."

"Derp derp stop building telescopes and space probes and feed the world's poor (and give me UBI!)."

"Derp derp something something Trump."

I was a kid who dreamed of a being an astronomer. It didn't work out that way, but I've maintained my love for all things beyond our atmosphere throughout my life. One of the most depressing things for me in the age of the internet is how any story involving astronomy or astrophysics posted for "civilians" to read is full of comments by people who cannot see past the distance of their erect penis (or gut, whichever extends further . . . probably the latter).

*rant over*

We're just having fun there dude.. You're missing the reason for it. Namely as a response to clickbait titles.

99% of people clicking through are doing so hoping to hear about extra terrestrial life, not to read about magnetars. This story already made it through major outlets like yahoo news the same way, but you have to read them to find out what it came from ;)... Aliens sell.

This is a computer forum and this would have otherwise just been a dead thread if you really expect all of us to engage in educated discussion about neutron stars. So you should just join in on the penis jokes IMO, loosen up m8

First, thanks for reminding me that I haven't listened to any BOC in a bout a decade. It's perfect with the bourbon I'm working on right now.

Secondly(on a slightly related note), I'm OK with tequila these days(if it's good) but the last time I drank mescal I ended up wandering around the resort for an hour trying to find my room before finally ending up back at the bar my friends were at and giving up.

Ha Prey.
I remember that being a game full of sphincters

:D

you guys believe in aliens?

Yes, the odds are, somewhere out there, there is life. Aliens could mean a microscopic organism to a full fledged civilization.

The thing I find the most interesting about alien abductions, is they can be recreated with DMT, the chemical that helps you dream. So, alien abductions are most likely bad dreams/acid trips.

That doesn't change my opinion that in this vast universe, there has to be some form of life somewhere, other than us.

You haven't been abducted. It's called sleep paralysis, and it can feel convincing even though it's really just your mind playing tricks on you. Before UFOs, people thought these were demons instead of aliens.

Also, this neutron star news is cool, but relatively commonplace in the universe -- it's called a pulsar, and radio signals are what they do.

The United States Navy literally came clean and said they have been tracking sentient intelligent alien flying craft for years. There is released video of super hornets in full afterburner chasing an alien ship when it completely.changed course and left them in the dust. There are videos of alien craft launching from the moon casting shadows on the surface estimated to be kilometers long.

They literally came clean, eh?

links fro the moon vids?

This is similar to why the Ancient's ship launched in Stargate Universe. So at least we have ascension to eventually look forward to.

my crown Vic is faster than a super hornet, but I get what you’re saying.

I don't think it's a "signal " more like a signature .
Signature as in a "trail" from impactions.

Then again the Native American story from above gave me an idea.
Maybe take 3 Stoic, Native Americans with preternatural tracking ability (you know , like being able to know a train is coming "in their feet"), have them grow their hair very long or use hair extensions to enhance this ability, place them in a small triangular pool.
Keep all non essential people and tequila away from these Precog Astronomers!
Keep the water in this "hair broth" a warm 80 degrees and add nutrients to the bath like peyote, salvia and tobacco.

Like above but with much more hair.
Any more stereotypes I can add to make it more ridiculous?

FRBs are likely happening all the time and natural in origin.

Your crown vic is faster than a dual engined 100,000 horsepower, 1150+ mph capable F/A18 Super Hornet, the top tier US Naval Fleet Fighter plane?

You don't remember the congressional hearings about the super hornet back in the late 90s and how it was slower than the original?
