The Division 2

I played a bit last night after the patch finished downloading. I had a few cocktails in the system but enemy AI seemed beefed up to me and stomped me pretty hard. Also noticed the gear has different attributes and what seems like one attribute that may level up with use or is it just showing the three tiers (if wearing multiples of the same manufacturer) in a different graphic?

Why? Every single time these stupid things are dropped from helos, They end up glitched in the air.

I played a little last night, made it into NYC and the first safehouse. Game feels brand new to me which is great. That’s obviously because they changed damn near everything, gear-wise. I’m sucked back in.

New patch was a hassle. Apparently 51gb of empty space wasn't enough after it took 20 minutes to allocate space for the patch/game. At least the patched game is only 12GB bigger.

Played roughly 6 hours so far. Have 3 of the 4 Lt.s done and all the Safehouse Projects done that upgrade the HQ. At first I wasn't impressed. Replacing Legendarys and Exotics with greens and blues did not feel like an upgrade. Losing all holstered talents ruined my build. All gear had the number of Talents it could roll with reduced to one, and even that was just a potential, not a guarantee. The main talent on the BTSU gloves I spent forever farming for was changed to have nothing to do with a Tech or Solo build, which was how I was using them. I actually kept all my level 30 gear until I hit level 36, then I swapped out ONE weapon. The rest didn't get changed until level 38 when Legendarys started dropping again. I was rather fragile by that point and really had to be careful. Now all my stuff is level 40 and Gold again. Mostly focused on a Tech build like I had before, but hardly thought out and optimized. Some of the new Talents are interesting, I'm eager to mess around with some of them.

Now that I've leveled up, played more, and explored more of Manhattan, I'm enjoying it a lot more. As always, Massive has done an incredible job of World Building. Some of the locales are awesome, I've taken several screen shots so far. I've the last Lt. and then Keener left that I'll tackle after I get up (working nights, so heading to bed now). Then we'll see what the End Game looks like, what affect "Seasons" is going to have, and if it has improved enough to keep me around. Either way, I'll likely be bouncing between Division 2 and Destiny 2 as content rolls out and my mood fancys.

Finished the Warlords of NY DLC story campaign. Overall was very impressed. Think I had more fun in the ~12 hours it took to complete the DLC than in the base game story campaign.

Looking forward to start the loot grind and start optimizing.

Logged in yesterday after the update and still no hostage rescue. Gain a level or two while doing a couple captures.

Log in tonight and all my rifles are now marksman rifles. Not sure what happened since I played last night after the patch, but I went from an AR and marksman to two marksman. I kept switching weapons and couldn't figure out why the ammo count was the same. While trying to kill mobs and find a rifle which of course with the new changes to drops zero loot drops for me, I try to complete a radio broadcast and need to sweep the area to complete. It turns out all the remaining mobs spawned in a wall. I think I will wait for some updates now.

I also found I am now dead after one hit so something is completely off with my game and I can't think it is just the changes.

Enemies pawning in walls is something that has been in the game for months unfortunatelly, as to why your gun changed that is very strange but al loot has been redesigned so their are possibly some weird things to be expected.

Also due to the gear changes you could end up beeing squishier then your were b4 as gear seems to have been nerfed quite a bit.

I have basically been playing just the story content with the idea I wasn't really going to get too serious about "everything else" until the story part is done and I'm at 40. I'm 34 now an I have one of the lieutenants beaten. Good or bad plan? I'm still learning the ropes on the new systems.

Safehouse projects. I need to look into that. I don't think I've seen that or I missed it.

I definitely take damage much easier vs before. No question about that. It's frustrating.

Difficulty is definitely way higher. I kind of like it.

I died a couple times on one of the story missions instead of just steamrolling like usual. Nothing ever felt super hard or unbeatable, but you take significantly higher damage and elites are way tankier.

Need to see how it plays out.

When you discover a new Safehouse, talk to its leader and visit its laptop. Each one wants you to find all the local SHD Tech (5 each), resupply some Checkpoints and do 3 local activities. Once you complete all those, they donate something to the HQ that Rhodes likes (his mood improves some). All seems aesthetic, doesn't buff anything for your character that I could see unfortunately.

Finished all the Content for WoNY. Enjoyed it. If I had any tips it would be to SAVE THE SIDE MISSIONS FOR AFTER THE CAMPAIGN. I leveled about 6 times after hitting 40 (got the animation, but no rewards), but none of them counted towards the "infinite leveling" that unlocks after you complete the last mission. Was a little torqued about that. EDIT: In today's SotG they said this was not intended and they are looking into a fix

When you find something with a maxed Attribute or good Talent, mark it for Recalibration. Once you get to the Recal Station, go into Library and browse to it. It lists items with the best stats at the top, which is useful. Perfect Talents and Unique item Attributes do not qualify.

I haven't started playing this one yet because I like to wait a while for Ubisoft to fix their shit. I have the base game with a season one pass. Do I level with the base game or install the new DLC and start leveling there?

Played about 6 hours of WoNY thus far, and it's been pretty good. I've already cleared one of the lieutenants and the all of the tasks associated with it. Definitely like the new re-calibration library feature and how the stats compare with the max values.

Difficulty is quite decent for me. I nearly died on 3 instances last night, but was saved by my healing drone. A part of me misses the high damage / high armor build I had before Gear 2.0 which allowed me to take down elites and Level 4 strongholds solo with ease. One tip I have is to upgrade your gear at the Haven vendors every time you level up. I think at Level 34, the gear sold at the vendors goes up one tier (i.e., from blue to purple)

Level with the base game first. If you use the level up, it locks you out of some of the early content. Or worst case start a second character to use the level up.

Also I thought I read the year 1 pass ended March 1st so that may not even be useful anymore. I don't think they even sell it anymore.

The 1-30 Campaign is worth doing. Best part of the game imo. Do it on at least 1 character, then use the DLC Boost on the others if you like. If you like the game and end up sinking some real time into it, you may enjoy replaying it later to break the monotony. You can always delete a character (you get 4 total) and start over if you do decide to speed boost right away, so its not the end of the world no matter what you decide.

I'm struggling to solo Hard missions since TU8 (soloed Heroic prior), but this dude has already broken the game. How long you suppose before this gets nerfed?

Who the fuck finds this stuff?

Content Creators who get a tip from the Devs usually, although a random on Reddit discovered these two.

Level 30 Clan Vendor will have the best gear apart from DZ Vendors. Visit them first. FYI: DC & Manhattan Clan Vendors have identical stock.

If you're not in a Clan yet, we have one for Forum Members. Just search HardOCP and submit a request. One of us will get you cleared asap.

Best strategy in the Kajika fight where you end up in this tight area where a bunch of these heavily armored guys with the conveniently long range flame throwers come after you? What's their weakness in general?

I'm still basically sticking to my "do story first then everything else" strategy although if I'm going from point a to point b and there is a fast activity I'll do that, too. Is that the best way to do this? I'm 35 now.

Bad guys with flamethrowers is shoot the cannisters, stay away as much as possible and use something with long range and lots of bullets like an LMG, and try to place a turret where they can't reach it for added damage while you run like a sissy.

...and try to place a turret where they can't reach it for added damage while you run like a sissy.

This was my strategy. Using a glass cannon Tech build (not on purpose, just what I had), so the Turret was actually fairly stout and took a lot of agro away from me. However, Kajika and his freaking shock traps, which he seems to have an endless supply of and throws every 5 feet around the arena no matter how fast you try to shoot them, was rather annoying. If you can Fire / Shock ammo him to stagger him, then lay into him with an LMG with some Crit on it, you may be able to knock a healthy chunk off of him. He will use a health kit, but if you can stay on him with a second weapon, nade or skill, you can keep him from doing so. Not sure how many kits he has, but they do not seem to be infinite. I hated him most of all the Bosses, because when you think you have him killed, he miraculously manages to stagger off (with no health and me filling him full of lead) to safety. He did this twice before the "real fight". Cheap mechanic that I despise in games. Isn't the only Boss that use it on either, but I shant spoil further.

Well, the DZ is my new favorite spot. Not because I like PvP, on the contrary, I hate it in this game... but man does it pay well if you can get it out. I made more progress in 90 minutes in there than I have the last 10 hours of playing WoNY. Of course I'm level 40 now, so that is all relative, but still. Chose the DZ where the targeted loot was Gear Sets, and came out with maybe a dozen pieces, including a couple Striker. One of those was a god roll, with max Weapon Damage and Crit Chance on the same piece. Most the other pieces were in the 75-90 percentile, so still good stuff. Numerous weapons also, including a lvl 40 Pestilence, a bunch of SMG's with good rolls for the Recal Library, and my first Negev LMG. Unhinged, which isn't as good as it used to be, and attributes at about 70% max. Okay for a start, but was just happy to get one for now. I had run Roosevelt on Hard, then Challenging (LMG targeted loot) 5 times prior to this trying to get it, and came out with jack sheit. I'm sure this will get balanced at some point, or will fill up with Rogues after people start getting bored of the other new content. But for now it seems like a good source of quick quality loot.

Lastly, Cassie has a White Death & Mask, both with max Headshot Damage if you want to stock your Recal Library. She also has True Patriot Chest & BP, each with the new unique talents to compliment the Gear Set. Load up people, she resets in 5 days.

I finally got through the main DLC campaign, found it pretty hard compared to the main game. Can't say I'm looking forward to do it on my alts.

Good grief. Well you can ignore this too. Apparantly when they nerfed Negev & DZ, they also secretly nerfed all the Vendors. They have the same items, but the rolls are not as good.

Why do some developers have to constantly tweak and nerf their games? Odyssey was amazing, and pretty much the same for a year and a half. One was Ubisoft Quebec though, and the other is Massive.

All lot of reasons. This is a shared PvE and PvP game, so even though something may be fun in PvE, if it breaks PvP they still have to change it. If they buff everything else, they get power creep that eventually gets so bloated it is impossible to balance. Nerfs have a much more manageable affect, so they are seen as the lesser evil. Also, they have huge competition. Destiny 2 has a big content drop this week also, so Massive has to be on top of things to retain as many players as possible. OP stuff is fun for those who have them, but much less so for those on the receiving end of them. When there is an obvious out-lier, then it makes sense to reign it in before Reddit is all lit up with it.

It is still frustrating for all of us just trying to figure out what Builds are good now, but its hard to avoid that no matter what game you are playing. That said, some of this they do to themselves. They will purposely throw in OP stuff with new content to reward early players and keep the hype train momentum. No matter what the "games as a service" game is, I see this happen with new content across the Industry. Marketing Strategy.

I have to do Castle Clinton at least to get to Keener. So far that's one of two side missions done. I'm level 39 and I'm thinking I may as well get to 40 before I get into it. What's an efficient way to find SHD tech because that's slowing me down.

The boss fight is fucking retarded if you've attempted to play with skills, like I had.

Good thing I had a bunch of offensive gear still sitting in my inventory or it might have been impossible. Went from getting ass fucked to the entire fight being over in 1 magazine of sniper rifle because I was headshotting him for 2 million damage.

What do I do with all of my level 30 gear? Is it all junk to be sold or deconstructed? There is no use for it in the Level 31-40 recalibration library right?

Is this true? If so I’ve got about 250 items that need to be tossed...

I read that there are two recalibration libraries. One for level 1-30 players, and one for level 31-40 players with Warlords of New York. For people with the expansion it doesn't seem like there is any use for level 30 and under gear. That is what I am aksing.

You have to be 40 to do the Keener mission it's locked otherwise,

As for an efficient way for the SHD tech, check the internet for the locations or prepare to roam around quite a bit and keep an eye out for those rope's you have to shoot to drop down to get to them in a lot of cases. I found a bunch but had to look at a guide for the remaining ones.

Other than doing a bounty missions in NYC, any other way to get faction keys? Like how you can scavenge the sewers in DC for those boxes that hold faction keys.

Keep your Exotics, deconstruct the rest until you're full on materials, then sell the rest. Level 30 stuff is obsolete, but Massive has said they will be adding the ability to upgrade our Exotics later on.

When you unlock a new Safehouse & talk to its Leader, you should get access to a laptop that reveals all the markers on the map. Most will be question marks until you get close to them, so unfortunately you still have to do all the running around. Haven't found a more efficient way yet, but if I do I'll let you know.

They are still in the Sewers in NY as well. This is where I found most mine.

Do note that there are more doors in the sewers you can enter then in the DC sewers and they usually are found in those rooms as far as the keys that I found.

On a different topic I did a couple of the old DC missions to see how well that was goind, and most of what I sone seems as easy as b4 other then some enemies using the hive healing now which I never seen b4 and it is annoying if you play somewhat defensive like me :p
