I am ready to upgrade my phone. I was very interested in the 6T only to find out there is an issue with SMS with the phone on Straight Talk and Total Wireless on Verizon networks.

Has this issue ben resolved or did everyone just give up?

Thanks,

I have a 6 and use the AT&T Straight Talk sim card and never have any issues.

The issue seemed to be with the Verizon partnership and Straighttalk/Totalwireless. AT&T has no coverage in our area, but I appreciate your reply.

From what I have read online is Verizon will not let mvno's use LTE only activations and since all OnePlus phones will be missing cmda to work on verizon

I have Total Wireless so I've been researching the same thing...

From what I've seen, you need to enable "CDMA-less" option on your line, however, not every CS representative has any idea how to actually do that. They will tell you that they can't or that Verizon doesn't allow them to, but like 1 out of 10 will actually enable it on your account.

I didn't bother and just got a Pixel 3a instead.

I would think that with Verizon phasing out CDMA it would be easier to enable. I don't think Verizon is accepting new phones on their network that aren't VoLTE compatible. I would think in the next year that CDMA-less should be easier to enable.

I believe you are correct. A guy at work using Verizon got rid of his old flip phone for a VoLTE phone flip phone. Because Verizon told him the old phone won't work soon.

So I was browsing around and noticed that total wireless sells the 6T and 7T phones right from their website. As well as other CDMA less phones like the Razer phone 2. I guess they must have figured it out.
