What is your budget? Desired/required features?

Hey.. Thanks for the reply. Budget is ideally less than 70 bucks.... I would love a spot for the psu underneath... capable of full atx.. very no frills... just for work. That's pretty much it.

(i can go higher on budget.. just trying to save where I can.. heh)

for more context... I need to test about 8 old DFI 939 and 775 boards to prep for sale... and more that I just want to play with.. I want something I can leave out on my desk with the PSU attached ready to put a mobo down on and test it..

The other thing I need.. not even sure where to post this.. lol. A Set of wall shelf mesh shelves to hold tools and pc parts here... 865BFFE4-5D73-4E20-A623-58803C548684.jpeg

like on the wall.. I only see like shower units for this... any ideas? Thanks dudes. You guys rock.

Thanks.. I have those in my other room.. they are very sturdy and the adjusaibility is great. I was hoping to get a corner unit but I will likely move the poster and just get a flat wall set. And something with mesh rubber coated mesh shelves so I can hang tools through the open bits.. Anyways this is getting OT so I'll do some searchin' on the internets today and find something.

As far as a bench goes I think I may have a solution. I have a smaller plexiglass case with a bottom compartment which holds a psu and some drives and a top compartment for the mobo... it might not be the easiest to work in though.. I'm going to try it though.

I am in the same boat as dvsman. We had a similar test bench at work and it was honestly easier to just build the PC on a piece of cardboard.

Spotswoods custom cases were great for my mining rigs and loved them, but his stuff isn't exactly cheap IIRC. At the end of the day it is still more work than just assembling the test rig on a mobo box.

I have read that you should not set things on anti static bags because in some cases the bags are not AS on the exterior. No idea if it is true but no reason to risk it. Cardboard and actual anti static mats are easy to come by.

Yeah same boat here as dvs/kardonxt. Use a box for repairs and then a wooden bench with a thick piece of foam for testing. I've thought a lot about getting an actual test bench but really I don't need it to be super secure to test most of the stuff.

What about this kit?

have to put it together yourself but there’s room for mobo, cards, psu, even a 3.5” Drive, etc. they’ve got them in smaller sizes if you only need mATX or ITX compatibility. Not expensive.

saw a YouTube review on it and it looks solid. Been thinking to pick up the itx one myself.

There’s also a vertical one in a similar style, though it’s a bit more expensive. I saw one version with a handle up top.

They’re on eBay too if you prefer there.

You can found some chinnese made in aliexpress, they're made of transparent plastic and are cheap but they do the job, they usually come with basic buttons (power on/reboot) and usb ports.
