OK, so we are in the works of talking to TAAT about another FAH challenge. I've been PM'ing biodoc about this and we need some of team H's thoughts on how they would like a yearly challenge to go. This past one originally was going to be us vs. them. However, they had about double the output we did and really didn't make things all that interesting. So, they decided to break themselves off into two teams. This time around we need to know if the team wants to just keep it as two teams. (us vs. them) Or do we want to lump everyone together and put everyone into a couple or more teams somehow? SETI.Wow event lumps users into mini teams based on zodiac signs. I just wanted to get this out there so that the team could decide and take interest in the event. We are wanting a 7 day period during February since there are no challenges on the books for February and therefore shouldn't conflict with anything.

Everyone should post their opinion on this here. There are no right or wrong answers.

Would I have to do anything different? I logged in here to see if anyone else got a 0 for yesterday;) Hopefully server issue. <edit> Yup, everyone got a 0. Coffee is working:)

We don't have any rules laid down yet. Looking for ideas on how people would like the event to look like or be handled. I just know that if it was us vs. them, there would be a large difference in points favoring them by probably 2:1. Hopefully, by gaining more interest, we can level the playing field at some point. So, if you have ideas on how you think this event would be fun, by all means let us know.

Feb is a good month as you stated. Keep it short (7 days max) and sweet. Suggest a fix date. Don't mind allocating some resources for 7 days in a year for a project that pissed off some old folks here and hopefully some may reconsider contributing for a short amount of time. Also may be able setup for small amount of crypto coin reward as a bonus.

If someone wants to "commemorate" the ending of bigadv (nostalgic reason, yeah some will be pissed off more than others;)), may I suggest a fix event date, starting from Jan 31st to Feb 6th. Why Jan 31st? Well, the ending of bigadv experiment. Maybe the next one competition is planned for 2021 (6th anniversary of the ending of bigadv)?

2) The BA experiment will permanently end on January 31, 2015. On that date, the servers will be set to accept only and we will have no plans for future BA WUs. This would allow donors to continue to use their machines and recoup more of their investment than the previous plan. This decision would also work to avoid future issues and strife within the FAH community associated with BA. We understand that many donors will be very disappointed about this decision. This was a judgement call I had to make and this decision is, in my opinion, the right thing to do for the long term good of FAH, even though I know there will be many upset donors right now.

P.S. Sorry for those living in southern hemisphere.

I like the theme. Got any suggestions on how to build teams or keep it us vs. them? Also, if you make the appropriate account names, you can get crypto just for running fah. I get folding coin now since I created a third account.

I like the theme pututu proposed. :) I started a thread at the Anandtech forum looking for feedback. I proposed another format: team vs team with manual sign up. I'm not sure if this would be more competitive or not. The problem with manual sign up is we need time (1 or 2 weeks) to allow members to sign up.

And if we make sub-teams, let's name one ChelseaOilman. That way despite his best efforts he can earn f@h points again! Even better would be if we can find his passkey...

:D

Yes sign me up for team "[H]ard on for ChelseaOilman (Big Adv edition 2020)"

How about manual sign up for TAAT vs total output for [H]?

We've got team members who aren't active in the DC forum that are producing 13.4+ million PPD so that would be a handicap for us.
