People are still reporting black screen crashes with Vega. Stuttering on Navi.

So I just started messing around with the RX5700 a few days ago. Had a crazy time with drivers, like I'm sure everyone else has had. Is the built-in update function within Radeon software/adrenaline safe to use now? I've read that the only way to upgrade the drivers reliably is a clean install. Is that true?

I didn't have any issue with drivers on my 5700xt, but I do understand that some people have.
Anytime I have used the built in update function, I get the error of Server Not Found, so I just DL from the AMD site.

I personally always do a clean install with driver upgrades. Hasn't failed me yet. Is it the only reliable way? <shrugs> Just my preference

Worked for me.

A better method than on the fly.
