High Idle voltage and temps Ryzen 3950X + Gigabyte aorus master x570

Hi All,

I have a new build and my idle temps stay at 40-45c temps with 1.3-4v on cpu.

Ideally I would like idle temps to hit 30-35C and <1v on idle and boost to 1.4v on load.

Is this possible?

Mother board is on latest bios version F11 and settings are all set to auto on the board.

Cpu cooler is h150i pro 360mm 3 fans. The cooling is set too extreme.

I also have an X570 Aorus Master and h150i pro setup, though I’m using a 3900x. Noticed same as you - idle temps and voltage weren’t really idle. Processor wouldn’t clock down as expected.

I poked around in the bios and found two default settings to change. Not in front of the system right now but one was a voltage setting, default “auto” and I changed it to “normal”. The other was an auto boost function. Turned that off.

idle temps dropped noticeably after these changes. Didn’t think to go back and see if it was one or the other or both that did it. I’ll see which settings in particular it was later tonight.

Initially I thought maybe I needed to reseat the aio contact plate but after this it seemed all was running as expected.
