Tom's Hardware manages to get into one of Intel's Secret Overclocking Laboratories.

"It was incredibly enlightening to see first hand the work Intel does as it continues to bring overclocking closer to its design process, and the company's work in assisting its ecosystem partners, like motherboard vendors, assures that the learnings and advances made in the overclocking realm filter out to untold millions of users that never tune their chip. That's good for everyone because a competitive industry leads to more value for end users, regardless of what chip vendor they choose at checkout.

It's also encouraging to hear the company say it is confident it can continue to offer enthusiasts meaningful overclocking headroom even as it grapples with more complex process tech.

We'll hold them to that. "

How big was the chiller system? Was it a bit empty these days?

Cool that they do this. It would make for a fun job.

When the Intel sponsorship dollars dry up.

Well, overclocking an Intel CPU is almost a must these days if you want to narrowly beat an equivalent AMD at stock...

I used to work in one those Intel labs 13 years ago as a tech setting up the systems to be tested etc and preparing the server rooms that generate the tests for the systems.
was impressive even back then (they had most of these toys already) , validation boards with CPUs connected to logic analyzers being tortured 24/7 at extreme temps
or seeing how far you can push a CPU clock and voltage with chillers , it was back in the Penryn Core 2 days, wasn't a bad first job for a tech lover.
