Modern Warfare players beg Activision to patch sneaky blank name exploit

The article doesn't do a good job of explaining what it would be exploiting and I'm still not sure what the advantage is. Also, does a player with a shorter name have an advantage over one with a longer name? Should players be forced to all have the same length of in-game name? The fuss sort of sounds like crybabying to me.

From the article:

"Several users acknowledged that the trick is indeed rather smart, with numerous players calling it a “really smart” or “galaxy brain” strategy. Even the user who created the post said it was a 200 IQ move."

Spare us, please. Blank names have been around since the dawn of online gaming.

From the same people who bitch about the radar not giving as much information as before, I'm sure. May as well just give everyone wallhacks in the next one to get everybody to stop complaining.

Never understood name displays on enemies in FPS PVP to begin with, it's just an "I'm here!" marker. Radar blip for loud (quickly moving/shooting) players I can understand, because not everyone has good speakers/headsets and FoV limitations, but name displays, persistent radar, highlighting are just silly.

Even the user who created the post said it was a 200 IQ move."
I mean the user who created the post must know, he's an authority on all things.

What is this tabloid garbage site? Shouldn't we draw a line somewhere from where to source "news"? I feel I've become less intelligent just by clicking on this link.

People bitching because they suck at video games? What else is new. Does the hitbox incorporate the name or not? "There appears to be a lot of agreement" on Reddit, where mob think overrules facts.
