Resolution is too low

"Getting excited about gaming monitors isn't easy these days. But the TUF VG27AQ has a unique feature that might make it the best budget gaming monitor so far. Its called ELMB-SYNC and it allows you to enable G-SYNC or FreeSync alongside motion blur reduction (ULMB and ELMB). This really is a game changer so let's check out this feature and how it works with G-SYNC."

I like Hardware Canucks (well, used to read their stuff often ... they don't show anymore when I do a hardware reviews search) oh yea, the monitor ... the average buyer won't know the difference (sad, but true)

It makes me wonder exactly how big of a difference this stuff makes in real-time given, by their own admission, it's really only noticeable on a high-framerate camera shot.

Near the end of the video, he pretty much states that it's hard to revert after using it for a while. From what I can see, the effect is not unlike the FPS jumps over the years; once your brain gets use to processing more information, going back is like a system shock.

They're probably using black frame insertion which looks weird to me. What we really need is faster panels with better contrast and sRGB coverage than TN panels.

This is a IPS panel, the VG27BQ is the TN version, iirc. From what I can tell, the new feature is black frame insertion, however I'm not sure if it's an improved implementation or not. You can find out more on RTINGS.

That's what I figured. The newer Innolux panel is the fastest 27" IPS panel I'm aware of and without BFI it's not anywhere near as fast as a halfway decent TN panel(which could hardly be considered a holy grail due to other drawbacks) and all the VA panels I've seen are even slower than IPS.

I'm not really in the market right now but I would be if I could get 1ms B2B in a nice looking IPS at a reasonable price.
