But don't you see? It's rare! It's ultra-rare! Like pants-ruining sharts, these don't just show up every day. Also like sharts, it's useless and bulky and made from materials worth dozens of pennies.

If you have more money than you know what to do with, and you're a fan of Valve, then it's kind of a cool thing to have.
Could use it to make your HTPC build and "wow" tech people that are in the know. In the age of mass market cases it's hard to stand out and be unique at any level. These "limited edition" cases are certainly way more "exclusive" than that for people that care.
For everyone else this is a colossal waste of money.
