I remember back in the day, I was using a wireless gaming mouse circa 2009-13, and a non gaming MS wireless keyboard.

I never thought about input lag.

I know need both a mouse and keyboard, and I'd like them to both be wireless. So I actually need a "gaming" mouse and keyboard? I just need a mouse that has what I need for buttons, and that is comfortable. Same for the Keyboard. I can use Xmouse for programming them.

Any ideas?

Logitech's wireless gaming mice have the lowest latency of any mice (including wired), they also have the best sensors. Wireless mice from other brands aren't nearly as good, but you can probably find some that are adequate. Idk about the keyboards.

I have a Logitech g700s wireless mouse and it doesn't matter if it is plugged in or wireless, the latency is good. I am not sure about keyboards, I have a Logitech G810 keyboard but it is wired.
Definitely go with a gaming mouse.

I use a Logitech G602 wireless mouse. I've been using wireless mice for gaming since I bought my first one way back in the day, a Logitech MX1000.

I don't seem to notice any lag and if there is lag maybe I am compensating for it,

Holy fuck! I can buy a MB, RAM, and CPU for that much. lol Insane for a single mouse. They can't be harder to make than all three CPU, MB, and RAM.

What price are you seeing? they were $99 when they came out and were regularly on sale. I have 2 of them still (G700, not the S model) but I prefer the battery life of the G602.

I bought mine in 2013 for $80 which was expensive but not too bad. The mouse and keyboard is one area where I wouldn't skimp out since that is the interface with the computer you use every day.
If you have a low end wireless mouse that has high latency there is no point having something like a 144Hz monitor and the CPU/GPU to power it.

It was the G700s !!. lol Anyway, my rig no longer posts. C1. No idea what to do now. Gotta new thread opened in general hardware.

They discontinued that model a couple years ago that's why it's so expensive.

I ordered the G305. It was the smallest Logitech gaming mouse I could find. If you have another option just as small or smaller, please let me know. It's too bad I can;t find a gaming mouse shaped like the M325, with the indent in the center. It's really conducive to my finger grip. I use my thumb and pinky finger in the middle of the mouse to move it, and i don't use a palm grip. Too bad Logitech doesn't make a gaming mouse inthe same size asthe M325 too. It's perfect for my grip. If they had it with the hero sensor and upgraded wifi/BT connection, I'd just get that for gaming.

I'm no gaming mouse expert by any stretch of the imagination but I just got a Logitech G602 this past week and it's the best gaming mouse I ever used. Up to 2500 dpi, very comfortable (this is subjective based on one's hand size) and I can't detect any lag whatsoever ... and at $22.99 right now (Dec 29, 2019) it's a steal ;)

It's a huge muse though. Way too big for me. I'd like to have Logitech's M325 mouse in a gaming option.

used g700 and g700s for a long time, never had any input lag at all. Hated the 602 personally, but to each their own. The distance on the 700's arent the best

And what about keyboards ? I'm not sure if I should choose one from Corsair or Logitech ? (if you have another brand that is as good or better, I would be glad to hear about it)

The logitech g915 is a really nice option if you have the extra $230 to spend... same thing as the g815, which is the wired version and 100$ cheaper. I don't know why people want wireless peripherals, always such a PITA and hassle... the thing sits on your desk why would you not just want to keep it plugged in? not have to deal with latency and batteries and pairing and all that bs... I refuse to use wireless junk!

Not sure if the problem still exists, but I had a logitech wireless mouse and it was interfering with my router. My mouse would pause for a second then go again. I always thought it was a dog hair or something. I'd blow it out, then be good for another 5m. This went on for a year. Until I picked up a Titanfall and it was impossible to play since the mouse never sat still. Someone here mentioned that it could be my router. Switched to a wired mouse, fixed.

Because of that, I'll never do a wireless mouse again. Its probably not an issue anymore, but I'm that jaded by it.

What kind of battery life are you getting with the mouse and keyboard when gaming?

Was it even one of their gaming mice?

Logitech's wireless gaming mice don't have that problem.

For mice wireless removes the inconsistent resistance you get from the wire, so it could improve your accuracy. Good gaming wireless mice from Logitech have no wireless latency, pairing is a none-issue, and you can get a mouse pad that charges the mouse so you don't have to worry about batteries. You definitely pay a premium though.

For keyboards IMO there's no point. But some people don't like wires for aesthetic reasons.

MX Revolution. No idea if it were "gaming" or not. This problem was like 8 years ago. And because of it, I still won't go wireless. haha

Went from a gpro wired to a g700 then a gpro wireless. Could never go back to wired or "heavy" mice. No input lag, freedom of movement and 7-10 days with heavy use, but under my light use, I charge every 1-2 months. Logitech Lightsync is for real.

Yeah maybe technology has improved far enough these days to make using wireless stuff less painful, but like the other guy, I'm still annoyed from the last time I tried to own wireless peripherals probably 15 years ago. I stay with wired stuff and I probably always will.

I just got a generic bluetooth keyboard, I'll let you guys know how I like it when it comes in.

Never used a bluetooth keyboard before so hopefully the lag isn't too bad.

I honestly never felt a input lag from wireless mouse/kb. My main issues were connectivity issues. Like they stop responding for a sec or two randomly. Even with the receiver right next too them. Using several different models from Corsair and Logitech. I since have stop using wireless.

I am currently using a wireless Logitech G700s. In my experience with the G700s the wired and wireless modes are virtually indistinguishable. I have played BF1 and 5 with both and noticed no input lag or performance drop. That said, I do leave the power settings at "Max Gaming" and I must charge it every night. I never have any issues with dropout or lag about 3 feet from the receiver.
My experience with non-gaming mice is less than stellar. The wireless mice from a couple generations ago were complete garbage. The ones for desktop usage are alright but anything bluetooth or with a generic "unifying" receiver has aggressive sleep modes and the input lag is noticeable for even office applications.
LTT did a performance test a while back. Read into it how you will but at the least the input lag between wired and wireless is on par as long as you use a gaming mouse.

If you're too lazy to watch, Logitech wireless gaming mice have less input lag than the wired competition.

Logitech mouse and keyboard will be my next purchase for my build, my current build will go to the kids with my corsair stuff. I have heard nothing but good about logitech stuff, my g920 wheel from them has been rock solid
