AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz 8 Core $130

Throw in a decent B450 motherboard and the $30 combo discount, find some cheap RAM and you've got the bulk of a new build for around $300. I'd be all over this if I hadn't just done it last year with the 1700X, so I'll probably skip the 2700X and hope that the same deal comes around next year on the 3700X.

Was at MC with intention of picking up a cheap 2700x.Could not bring myself to purchase old tech.Walked out with 1250 watt psu & another 3600x for $189.

I doubt you'd find a better performing processor at that price point anywhere. Let's face it. It's not like the 2XXX series suddenly stopped working well after the 3XXX dropped.
The first gen ryzens kind of suck for gaming though. even my 1700x was having trouble with PUBG.... Once I got my 3700x it runs smooth as butter now. Not sure how 2nd gen is but it should definitely be a bit better than first...

Wow what a deal. I bought the 1700x + gigabyte b450m combo earlier this year.

Just grabbed this yesterday. Decided to go with an x470 board though after reading about some issues with x570's. My last build lasted me 6.5 years some how and just recently really began to show its age. Will likely grab a 5700xt soon. Nice to be throwing some support over to the red team after a long ass time with intel (don't think I've used AMD since 2007).

Sadly, I paid more for my 2600x a couple of months ago when my system was dead and was forced into a replacement.

In store only... If it wasn't over 3 hours each way to microcenter I would have probably upgraded my 1600... In store is great, except they only serve large metropolitan areas.

if anyone wants a combo, I might be able to pick you one up from my mc. You can send me exact $ for 2700x and whatever mobo you want plus shipping costs.

I have lots of heat under nervegrind3r, just trying to be a nice guy :)
