Sooo where I live with sales taking into account the GTX 1660 is $50 more expensive. Is it worth it?

The one side of my brain says the cost to performance ratio says go with the RX 590 it also comes with a free game! (RX 580 cheapest I've seen was $10 cheaper than the RX 590 right now).

The other side of my brain tells me the GTX 1660 will be a lot cooler more efficient and give me less anxiety over AMD drivers. Now things could have changed since my 7950 experience which is why I have a 760. The AMD driver interface is waay different. Maybe they have a new team that actually does their job now.

So if any of you have actual experience with both that would be great. I game at 1080p.

1660 no but would spring for the 1660s since it should be around the same price of a none super and like 3% less performance then the 1660ti.

About $25 more for the super. $25 for 10% more performance I suppose it would be.

Honestly I would wait a couple weeks for AMD's 55xx series and what they bring. They should be better then the 5xx cards.

Just installed a MSI 1660 Gamming X Super. Really pleased with it.

Fast, cool and quiet. Seems to always out perform the RX 590 by a fair margin in the reviews I've read.

Found the MSI has the best cooler Torx 3.0 with ZERO FROZR which stops fans when temps are under 60oc. Top temp I've reached is 65oc playing Tom Clancy Wildlands 2K with settings to high, barley hear the cooler

I have been checking everyday for updates for a couple months, it's to the point of just being painful at this point. I'm honestly going to be amazed if they have it out by Black Friday.

Yes they supposed to been out in October and it has been quite recently. I want 2 for Christmas builds for presents.

It really comes down to price. $50 is a lot in that budget ring. At this point, I probably wouldn't buy a new RX 590 with a RX 5500 in the works. Likewise, I would spend the couple extra bucks and buy a 1660 Super over the regular one. On paper it's only supposed to be a $10 difference.

The RX 590 is basically a heavily overclocked RX 580 released a year late. It didn't make sense then and doesn't make sense now, especially since it runs damned hot with a 225W TDP.

The GTX 1660 is a better choice with similar performance for half the power usage.

I have a RX 580 and 5700 but I still like the RX 570 8Gb for price and power draw ... like all tech things get phased out before there time as DX 12 was what it was built for and not DX11 games .. depending on your system a nice Ryzen 3600 / RX 570 8Gb is cheap build .. I was testing AGESA 1.0.0.4 on my 3700x and the RX 570 8Gb has no issue maxing GTA V out at 1080p in stock form

ReLive is about a 3 to 4 frame hit when recording ,
