I just read this https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-d...t-to-take-on-Intel-NUC-platform.437533.0.html

According to Fanless Tech, AMD has been hard at work on its new line of SFF PC line and, unlike the ASRock’s latest AMD models, these won’t be embedded Ryzen processors, but will feature higher power parts. Intel’s top-of-the-line Hades Canyon NUC models come with 8th gen Core i7 quad-core chips with a TDPs up to 100 W. Ironically, these also feature AMD’s Vega discrete mobile graphics integrated on the same die, which marks a rare collaboration between the two erstwhile competitors.

I'm down for this. When AMD Finally gets around to 6+ core APUs this will be amazing.

nuc's are an odd niche form factor. I'd rather see amd make laptops with their hardware and high end components.

To me, the sff computer has two real niches outside of commercial. 1. Hardware hackers / makers ....in which case nuc's hardly serve them with expensive hardware and limited features . 2. people who want to attach the computer to the back of their tv/monitor to create a sort of all in one pc that isn't really visible. In which case, who cares?

I've had nuc's ...they're disappointing after the novelty wears off. A purpose made sff board geared towards makers is much more appealing, my up^2 board with it's dual gigabit intel nic's makes for a very nice linux firewall and it's got very fast pci storage speeds compared to my intel nuc. Plus plenty of gpio pins.
