Saw the Zephyrus GA502 on sale.

Really am thinking about pulling the trigger. Some caveats:

1. Although this has the Zephyrus name, its build quality is lower than the Intel variants (e.g. lots of plastic vs metal).
2. Screen is subpar compared to the GX502 (Intel equivalent). Much worse sRGB coverage.

But it's literally half the price of the Intel equivalent (GX502).

Saw some sales on Lenovo for the Legion laptops the other day, I'd stick with intel variants - idk, what do you use it for?

Also out of curiosity, are you a mobile gamer or do you have a desktop too, just curious. I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a gaming laptop as of late but I don't technically NEED one, in terms of travel etc.

This would be for mobile gaming, I have a gaming desktop as well.

I view mobile gaming as a more casual affair, but even with Ryzen 3750H integrated graphics gets totally stomped on by the entry level MX250 (Pascal) in real games (not synthetic benches).

So on the go, work travel, vacation? I'm trying to figure out how I'd justify a higher end laptop if I was only using it part of the time and still had a full on gaming rig. Seems awfully expensive that I try to keep both LOL.

Love mine. Got it on sale this summer. Very capable for the price and a solid gamer.

I also love that it's possibly the only gaming-focused laptop out there, especially around this price point, that doesn't look like it's aimed at middle school kids. Nice, understated design.

No Intel means no Thunderbolt 3 (ie, external graphics card) either, correct?
