*apologies if this is a repost*

I think I first saw this on TweakTown. InWin announced a new take on PC cases, "Alice". To me it looks like someone took a dremel to a giant Tidy Cat Litter container... or maybe a laundry bin, with some hints of a milk crate "borrowed" from a grocery store.

I don't know how sold I am on the whole "heat rises so let's put the exhaust and I/O output on the top" theory... think about putting your tower case face down on the floor with your I/O and card ports on the top.

Also I can't help but think this would be noisy AF with NO panels.. I doubt that stretchy wrap is going to do anything for acoustics, but is an interesting idea on quick case modding based on your mood.

Still, innovation is welcome and I like this better than fingerprint magnet all tempered glass options.

More pics and details at the link. No pricing or availability yet.

edit - the more I look at this all I can think of is how nasty the fabric wraps are going to get with dust... the wrap becomes a giant fan filter. You would have to remove and wash these things on a weekly basis one imagines.

All I can think of is I have been throwing away (well, recycling) the Tidy Cat containers thinking "what a waste, I should do something with these"..... I could have been cutting them up for custom PC cases and making millions! Well maybe not millions.... but InWin stole my idea I didn't know I had at the time because I just remembered I had it! Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket...

I updated main thread... I found a good pic with the fabric wrapper on. Going to be a dust nightmare unless you wash them weekly, and one hopes it holds up to machine washing.

I'd rather have plastic or tempered glass covers than a fabric cover. Seems like a rehash of an old - but good - idea with a unneccessary addition.

This isn't for me, but is the wrap removable? What I mean is can you take it off and toss it in the washing machine? If so, then maybe being a dust magnet isn't awful, so long as it's not black (or white if it starts showing the dust in less than a week or 2).

Silverstone's been doing the 90 degree rotation cases for at least 10 years. It does make it easier to plug and unplug stuff but all the cabling coming out of the top can make things interesting.

Not bad, though somewhat big. I recently bought two cases for my two 3700x builds: a NZXT h210 and a Fractal Design Meshify C. While both are fine cases, the Meshify is needlessly huge and mostly empty. Kind of regret having it. I want small powerful stuff.

The concept is sound. Silverstone has done this for years and their Raven 2 is still one of the best cases ever made as far as cooling performance is. This case is still Gamers Nexus's baseline case which all other well cooling cases are compared to.

But yeah, the cables coming out of top looks messy...

I'm not sold on the fabric thing but if this came with simple plastic or metal cover, I like it. I am too old for the "Frag harder" spaceship gamer designs, aesthetically I prefer things that you can make a part of your decoration. This might be a good case for living rooms if small HTPC cases are simply too tiny for your needs.

So they invented what silverstone has been successfully doing for over 10 years. Except now it looks like a trashcan.

As for fabric being the cover, that's solving a problem nobody ever had. "Oh I wish my case was 2 kgs lighter and it had weak fabric all over instead of a metal enclosure".

The cables never came out on the top with silverstone cases, I Don't know who invented this fud. There is a top cover on all vertical silverstone cases, and all cables come out at the back. The only downside is that you need about 60cm longer cables than normal for everything

My cover is broken so they really are coming out at the top.

It broked many years ago so I completely forgot it even existed.

Not only is it an ugly eyesore, but it's a very large ugly eyesore.

It's 70+ liter case.

For comparison a Fractal Define R6 is about 58 Liters. I consider that a large case.

If the fabric is easy to clean and it cools well I see no problems.

I got nothing against clean and cool running. To me personally looks matters the least.

It's a tad big tho.

EDIT: With multiple "Sleeves" around this could be the easiest case to keep dust free yet.

Novel idea. Basically it’s an air frame case with fabric covering.

I seen one of their cases at Walmart was really impressed with the layout and clean design.
They took it down recently and a Ibuypower replaced it.

You just shake off the filter that covers it and throw it in the coin laundry station at your apartment complex.

Where does the PSU get it's air?

While the PSU is sideways, the bottom of the case seems to be completely open so should have plenty of air entering from there.

Also seems that the PSU would not have any vents, besides possibly thru the fabric to evacuate warm air to the outside...

The amount of air and orientation of the case could be ok for a fanless PSU too..maybe?

It looks like the PSU is behind a wall, separate chamber from the bottom intake fans are. So it gets no airflow from them, and the sideways orientation would place right between the outside and inside walls, with little gap. Meaning the intake fan must pull air from outside through the fabric.
