Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I really hope we get to meet a black Vampire and a Indian Vampire in the game. That's one thing that stood out to me in it's omission was other races as vampires. I mean sure a black vampire might have ashy skin or go through buckets of moisturizer. But still! Plus I could see Indian Cultures having an interesting take on the vampire Mythos. (Well I guess there are Assimites and they are more Indian focused right? Or at least Middle Eastern.)

Seattle is ethnically diverse so the game should reflect that as a feature of the setting. But it should be a natural inclusion not a forced inclusion. And having additional cultural history for the vampire mythos could be very entertaining if done well.

Having watched the gameplay video I'm a little disappointed the didn't keep with the original third person view

I don't get the obsession with animations... I remember people spitting fire over Mass Effect Andromeda's character animations when it released which to me didn't lessen my enjoyment of the game.

I agree with you however that the first game was amazing. The atmosphere, music... I just hope this can live up as a true sequel.
I'm not picky about animations, but vtmb2 had some of the most memorable characters in gaming history and their facials and posture where import for that.

The animations really are awful in that video but it's pre-alpha so hopefully that will change between now and launch, the graphics were fine and I was mainly just glad to see that they managed to capture the same grimy city feel that the last game had. The animations in the last game weren't that great but they were fairly average for the time other than the weird bendy waist thing that early source games had.

I haven't played the game in a while but I thought it was first person except for when you had a melee weapon out.

Your right I must have spent most of the game using melee as I remember it being 3rd person

Slow gameplay from Gamescom on what looks like the Xbox? Game still looks really rough at the moment, which is to be expected if this really is a "pre-alpha" build, but I'm glad they're showing the progress on the game instead of hiding it behind closed doors like CDPR.

games have always been delayed (Half Life 2 was delayed back in the day, Doom 3 etc)...doesn't guarantee a more polished game at release...there's probably going to be just as many bugs, we just have to wait longer to see them :D

I'm still trying to find a new job since our company close and the job market around here sucks so I've no complaints. ;)

I've been enjoying Vampyr for the most part while I wait for this one. It's got it's flaws but I'm loving the setting. Glad I didn't pay full price for it but its enjoyable as an "on sale" purchase until V:TMB2 is released. :)

Of course. Almost everything is being punted out of 2020. Ah well. I hope whenever this game finally comes out it's a polished gem.

Fine by me. I kinda hope they give the graphics a little bit of a boost while they're at it. Of the games MS showed during their first Xbox demo, Bloodlines 2 looked the most "last gen" of the bunch by far.

As long as a Malkavian Female still has a thong thats visible, Im good. ;)

Yeah, I was like 15/6 when I got the first one, you know damn well what character I chose and why.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 fires lead writer Brian Mitsoda together with creative director

Lead Writer Brian Mitsoda and Creative Director Ka’ai Cluney are no longer a part of the team at Hardsuit Labs...the statement further says that this was "a joint decision made by the leadership of Hardsuit Labs and Paradox Interactive"...

looks like a lot more went into the decision to delay the game then COVID-19...

The new head producer comes from Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. Hopefully we don't end up climbing towers to unlock the map.

After reading the updates of what's going on with the game makes and them firing a major writer me a bit concerned about it. I hope it turns out ok, definately won't pre-order it or anything.

Oh man, that means Brian isn't around to reign in that girl with less game writing experience compared to her general propoganda writing.

Now it's ok to be concerned the game will have less player choice now and more censorship. ;)
Hopefully this isn't the case.

It's definitely not a good sign since he was one of the few working on this one that had worked on the original Bloodlines game, not that losing the head writer is ever a good sign.

If they kept him out of the loop on the delay and fired him without warning like the article says I would think that means that they are doing a major rewrite.

I definitely won't be buying it until I see how it turns out. Before I was really excited for it, especially with starting this thread. Now... I might just go back to playing VTMB every once in a while.

I'm really concerned that the SJW writer will take this to TLOU2/SW7-9 levels of decisiveness.

bruh, wtf was "SJW" about TLOU2?

It's up on Epic but no planned release date.
VTMB is one of my favorite games of all time, but this one is worrying me. It's like virtually no news is being released for it. Didn't it have a release date before and then it was just pushed back, but now there is no release date? I wish we had some solid news about the game.

I'm sure they give you the option of being evil, but you only get the option to be a bigot who hates sjw and betrays your thinblood reject roots. Hypocrite vamp. With that you get shamed for being naughty against sjw values. And you miss out on having the cool friends and have crusty fuddy duds order you around.

Vampire: The Masquerade– Bloodlines 2 'delayed indefinitely' as its developer is replaced

Having previously been delayed into the latter half of this year, Paradox has now postponed Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 out of 2021...developer Hardsuit Labs has also been taken off the project

"We have also decided that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2, and we have started a collaboration with a new studio partner to finish work on the game. This has been a difficult decision, but we are convinced that it is the right way forward to do the game justice."...

A shame that Hardsuit labs is gone from this project. I love Killing Floor 2 and the constant updates they give it.

Amazing that the studio and people who pitched the project to Paradox will no longer be working on it. Probably for the best since it seems like the project was a train wreck from the start.

Tripwire Interactive are the developers of Killing Floor 2. Hardsuit made Blacklight: Retribution.

Are you sure?

https://www.hardsuitlabs.com/about/

They got Killing Floor under their resume

if they knew the game was in this bad of a shape then why wait until this late in development to remove Hardsuit Labs?...so 80% of the game will still be Hardsuit and 20% another developer?...I have a feeling they might just scrap it all together and start over...
