Post up your video card collection!!

Sorry , It took me so long getting the box and video card back together as everything is still in the box as I bought it brand new and gamed very little as it should be fine to run if you wanted as I had an after market cooler on it that cooled the ram once, the cooler is still setting on my 8800GT as I find all the missing box art and Evga cooler to put that display back together also ,

I guess starting some type of vintage PC gaming collection is not to hard when you still have most of the real stuff you bought new ..

Evga 8800GT SC = one owner bought just to play Crysis

Another working card to add to the collection.. Asus V6600 Deluxe (GeForce256 SDR w/ SGRAM). Seller said it wouldn't output any video -- completely dead. I cleaned up some corrosion and put on some Ceramique thermal paste -- good as new. Ran it through some Half-Life and Quake 3 and it works great. ($20 spent on the card) Now I just need to get my GeForce256 DDR working..

those NV Silencers were critical for nvidia cards starting with the 5000 series.

That one was made for the 7800GT which was a longer card and why I had to cut to fit that 8800 GT SC that is bios flashed to SSC clocks .

Also I still have a 8800GTS 320Mb that looks as new as the day I bought it new ..as it could be flashed to run CAD back in the day but a joke by todays standards .

Also erek , My first true gaming card was a 4200Ti with fast 64Mb of vram .

We still have a Led Tech FX 5900 XL I bought new as a replacement for the 4200Ti if I ever get up with him .. (Father in Law ) from the 5900 > I moved to 6800 Ultra

Also my ref RX 5700 brings back those yesterdays ..

dusting off this thread. I was going through some old files recently and found some gems - NVIDIA press photos from the early/mid 2000s. The pictures I had of most of my press samples were low quality but these are really nice, and wanted to share. These were the reference GeForce 3 and 4 boards.

GeForce FX stuff. These were smaller images but clear ones at least. Dunno why the press kit had them in such low resolution (even for the time these were small images).

Photos from the GeForce FX launch event. Notice Jensen doesn't seem to have aged much. I have a pet theory that he's actually a hologram, and each successive generation of GeForce cards is designed to render him in higher fidelity than the last.

For those of you who enjoy your wacky video card CG girls, this is when Dawn was introduced. As I recall she was never mentioned again.

GeForce 6 stuff, this is the last of what I have, freelance work kind of dried up after this (for me at least). Anyone remember this mermaid demo? Her hair was a big deal back then. I think AMD and NVIDIA are still trying to make a big deal out of hair rendering in games?

I don't think any of these demos will even run on modern hardware.

That's what Im talking about! Back when video cards looked awesome. Now they look like bricks of unicorn vomit with a fan slapped on em.

My parts closet currently consists of Sapphire HD 5770, XFX HD 5770, EVGA GTX 570 HD, EVGA GTX 670 FTW (uses the 680 PCB), EVGA GTX 970 (RIP), ASUS GTX 980 Strix.

Stuff I no longer have: EVGA 9800 GT, Sapphire X1650 Pro, some Nvidia FX card (I forget which, it was low-mid end), ATI 7500, and plenty I am forgetting.

Got rid of older cards (although, my current cards are probably considered old by today's standards =) ).

1. Small FF 1050 TI 4 GB.
2. Full height EVGA 1050 TI 4 GB.
3. Dell Alien ware 1070 GTX (bought refurbished)
4. Zotac Mini 8GB 1070 GTX

Lol I didnt scroll all the way down and though you got a video card and a cat :)

So many amazing pics. Love you [H] Peeps. The clear shroud of the GF5000 series makes me barf a little everytime, yet enjoy the torture of our past. Great work all!

Some amazing collections here, but I gotta ask... why on earth are you not selling your cards once you upgrade? I've probably gone through 100 cards over the past 20+ years, and the only ones I have are my main card (3080 ti), a back-up (290x), and one I broke a capacitor on years ago (Ti 4600).

Ceterum censeo that Hello Kitty card esse deledam.

Personally I did sell most of mine.. but I went on ebay and scooped up a bunch on the cheap (mostly) later. I've since sold off part of my collection but kept my favorites on display (in plexi boxes) ...

I still have every video card Ive ever had, but I tend to keep mine for longer periods of time. I also have my huge pile of retro cards in my hoard, but thats an entirely different issue.

Was that an actual discrete card? It compares to what like nvidia and amd?
Sure was, this was back in like 2010ish so I can't remember the details of performance. People shouldn't really have these cards because Intel wanted them destroyed but a few got out. I'm not sure there's any real functional drivers to test the performance of the card though but others might be able to clear that up. It's been a while since I've freshened up on Larrabee lore
