Also, are binoculars a special item? I see the controls option for using zoom on them but not how to activate them.
The menus get me every time. Advice for new players, don't bother doing any side quests for weapon blueprints and especially intel collectables until you've done the second storyline quest. The controls were locked out from being able to pick what intel I wanted until I'd done the second mission and one of the UI tutorials, I think. The item store was again locked out until you finish that and do some of the tutorials showing you how to upgrade gear. On the upside, in game cash was not hard to find in just a couple of hours racking up 35k.

Mine are good. They look nothing like that.Played about 3 hours tonight. I like all the game systems, there's a lot going on with gear, upgrades, and such. I know others complained about "RPG mechanics".
Otherwise, pretty generic. Enemies had VERY slow detection rates but that's probably because I'm playing on normal. I don't love it or hate it. Might grab it on sale for like $30 down the road.
Also... Why are the graphics so bad? SO... SO BAD.

OMG, I can't play this game, something is seriously effed up with it. The whole screen is a blurry mess. My eyes hurt after 5 minutes, I literally can't see anything. I disabled temporal injection, bloom, and motion blur but it didn't get any better.
Something is wrong with the AA in the game, disabling that fixed the blurriness, of course at the cost of jagged edges.LOL Sounds like me when I first attempted to play Borderlands 3.
I didn't know this game is going to be released on OCT. 4th
The RPG elements sound awesome. I just want to figure out if this a single player oriented game, or something like The Division 2 where you are blocked from things if you don't group.Something is wrong with the AA in the game, disabling that fixed the blurriness, of course at the cost of jagged edges.
Anyway I'm not going to buy the game it seems. I sunk close to 100 hours in wildlands in solo mode, but this game is a bloody MMO-RPG. It has enemy tiers, unskippable cutscenes (right before a difficult encounter), looting, levelups, the skill tree is completely RPG-ish instead of equipment upgrades that were in wildlands. They ruined vehicle controls, the graphics looks fugly 90% of the time. Sounds are extremely weak, both weapons and vehicles.
Oh and the female faces are all deliberately ugly, so no, I don't want this.
In short: They ruined almost everything that made Wildlands GOTY 2017 for me.
It's definitely not single player oriented. The ai team members have been scrapped. You can play solo, but the game constantly pushes you to join a group. And without ai team there is nobody to revive you, so the game gets extremely difficult solo. The RPG elements sound awesome. I just want to figure out if this a single player oriented game, or something like The Division 2 where you are blocked from things if you don't group.

Maybe they want this game to be a time sink so they added all those extreme features.
The camping mechanic is stupid, vehicle spawns are stupid, and I really don't care for the crafting stuff. There are some definitely things I don't like about the game. But so far I'm enjoying it enough to look past all of those things.
Glad there is an open beta so I can decide if I buy this game or not.
Are we still at the "I don't have a specific problem, therefore nobody can have it" argument?I'm not sure about any AA issues. I haven't noticed anything.
They are easier to control, for sure, also 100% less realistic. That's a negative for me. I prefer realism over easy mode. Especially the helicopter controls are a joke. Seems like they were copied from FarCry5. I know a lot of people hated on the helicopter controls in wildlands, but the way copters moved in wildlands was the closest thing to reality I ever saw in an action game. Was it easy? Hell no, it was difficult but extremely fun. I don't want easy, I want challenging, but fun. Also why I played wildlands on extreme difficulty in permadeath mode a few times.I agree with most of what you've said, except the vehicle controls. They are vastly superior to Wildlands when playing with a mouse and keyboard.
I also had everything on ultra, except for AA ofc, and about 90% of the time the graphics was "OK", 5% Fugly, and about 5% actually nice.I also think the graphics are generally fine, but I have virtually everything set to "Ultimate." Sounds are fairly weak. Especially vehicle sounds.
I can still have an attractive face regardless of the gear. The female faces in Wildlands were fine, at least some of them. Now all are rejects for the role of female Quasimodo.I can't speak to all the female faces, but I don't use female characters in these games. If I'm going to, I want to make something attractive and I can't do that when its 90% covered in body armor, MOLLE gear, etc.
I don't like it, and I'm not going to stand for it, therefore this game is a hard skip, regardless how I loved Wildlands. There are some looter shooter elements to this game. Like it or not, that's here to stay. It's one of the things about games like the Division 2 and Destiny / Destiny 2 that works.
It seems to me that it is half AC: Odyssey (the campaign structure, the rpg elements, and exploration) and half Division (looting, mmo stuff, coop)Basically, this game is Wildlands plus some elements from the Division 2. Some people might like that, others hate it. There are elements to it I don't like. The camping mechanic is stupid, vehicle spawns are stupid, and I really don't care for the crafting stuff. There are some definitely things I don't like about the game. But so far I'm enjoying it enough to look past all of those things.
Thanks.Without the ai team, solo play is frustrating, that's what seals its fate for me.

I'm telling you until I turned off AA the game was unbearably blurry for me on a GTX 1080.
After turning it off, everything else on ultra, the game looks OK, not great, sometimes I think Wildlands looked better.

I always bring up APB for character customization and I will continue to do that until developers learn how to make it right. I also hate the fact that the customization is basically select from a few preset faces. I know wildlands was the same, but I hoped for more, instead I got less.

I liked AC Odyssey but want none of it in a tactical shooter. And I absolutely loath everything about the division, so basically there is very little left in the game that I liked. Without the ai team, solo play is frustrating, that's what seals its fate for me.
Thanks.
The helicopter controls in Wildlands weren't a problem for me. I mostly agree with you on those. However, ground vehicle controls weren't more realistic in Wildlands. They were overly sensitive.
The "new" helicopter controls of wildlands, that they patched in later is basically the same as breakpoint: Terrible. You have to enable classic controls in it to have a decent experience.Agreed with the over sensitive bit (Wildlands), and would also consider them outright terrible. Feels like you're driving a train and any slight movement is the train derailing. The vehicles just jut out to one side. Not remotely close to realistic or sensible. Helicopters were usable but feel like hovering flying saucers. Weightless and just stay perfectly still when tilted to the side. You really can't get any worse than what WIldlands has, so I assume Breakpoint improved those areas.
So you say getting killed in a surprise encounter with nobody to revive you since there is no ai team, and being thrown back before an unskippable 5 minute cutscene/conversation is not frustrating? I didn't even want to try again after 2 failed attempts. I'm not going to watch the same cutscene just to get killed in 2 seconds again. It's really not. I completely disagree with him.
