They make money essentially from staying with lightning. Especially on phones where they can easily quick charge through it. I'd like to see USB c also, but since I already have a handful of lightning cables, and some with USB C to lightning (for quick charging) I am alright with things the way they are. Ultimately people probably arent going to decide against a phone because of the connector.Compared to previous USB charging cables I’d agree. But I don’t see how the Lightning connector is any easier to use than USB-C.
For iPhones the port is mainly used for charging unlike the MacBooks and now iPad Pros (which are trying to be marketed against laptops) where data transfer speeds are more important. I could honestly see them sticking to the Lightning Port for another generation or two.
