You mean load "*",8,1 ;)

I forgot that they made specific drives for the +4. Too bad the +4 wasn't compatible with the c64 or it would have really took off with the built-in programs.

Yeah I was like WTF is a 1551, and it's a European version for Plus 4 and C16... two of the dumbest systems Commie cranked out. I mean, the Vic-20 was bad, but it was a stepping stone on the path to the C64. These came out years after the C64 as cost reduced models aimed at... who exactly no one knows. Schools and other countries I guess. I remember seeing these at Sears but I never, ever saw one in the wild.

I think I actually have a 64+ somewhere or maybe I just remember using the built-in spreadsheet on it and thought 'neat, you don't have to buy Microsoft Multiplan, but then what else can you really do with it--the c64 can game'. It seems like just the interface board must be different as the drive mechanism seems almost exactly the same as the 1541. The thing that's interesting is that is seems to attach using a cartridge of sorts so I wonder if it was a parallel interface that was much faster than the 1541.
