amd 2700x 199.99

Jumped on it to replace my 1700X.

My X370 board died and I replaced it with an X470 board last december, so it should be a good match.

And its good that I did - its back up to 240.

Great, great processor - I love mine!
You can't beat the cost/performance ratio here, even over the 3600

Too bad the sale is over - I was thinking about getting one in the next week or two.
Choice of that or the 3600 for a non-gaming work pc:?

It's back on now apparently.

It still depends on what kind of workload you plan on using it for. But generally for more productivity applications more cores/threads gives you better performance, so I would go with the 2700X for that over a 3600. But if you're not even going to be stressing it that much in the first place, I would go even cheaper with a 2600 or 3400G (saves you on a GPU) or something. I have a 2700X and a 2600 in my son's desktop and you absolutely can't tell the difference just navigating around Windows/Office and the web and stuff.

I do - love it! They match Amazon/NewEgg tech prices so once NewEgg starts charging Texas sales tax in two weeks I'll be buying more from them.
/They don't take PayPal though :/
