(For some reason, I have't been able to paste links to the campaign.) Maybe it is automatically blocked

The campaign runs out on August 29th. It'll will sell high after that.

This is upscale 480p though 1080p up to a max of 4k 30fps.

I purchased to upscale my 720p PS3 and 1080p PS4 pro output up 1440p on my monitor. Neat little gadget for anyone into retro gaming as well but a lot of those older or mini consoles need to interlace the signal from 480i to 480p first with some sort of adapter.

Is anyone else thinking of getting this?

I'm not doing it for my computer, obviously. That wouldn't benefit me at all. But I think it'll be worth the $80 to get anti-aliasing on my Switch. Which is really all I expect from the device. I know it's not magic.

But going from 4k60 down to sub 1080p30 on the same beautiful 4k big screen is a little tough transition at times, I love Zelda: BTW, but the jaggies are horrible! Don't even get me started about Xenoblade 2...

Anyone here have the old Mcable or any hands on experience with it?

Sounds like MCables, which I've caught on sale for 15$...

Edit: Oh, it's made by the same people. Makes sense

I've never found the actual image processing version of the mcable on sale that cheap. I know that Marseilles makes non image processing versions as well.
I'd love to see if you found an actual one with the chip for $15, and let me know how it is.

Thanks! In for 2 pack!

Haha.. been awhile for me to come check on this forum and hit hard first post I see..

Damn. Had to be a topic on retro! Just what I'm into at the moment..

Already have a new ossc.. this will be fun to play around with on the original xbox and switch and ps4 and xbox one x for my son on our samsung 65" 8 series 4k TV that will run at 1440p.

Run the systems at 1080p and let the mclassic do the leg work for 1440p.

IDK what to tell ya m8. I have two 4' cables with the internal processor that I picked up on sale, think I spent 30$ shipped for the pair. Using one on my ps4 right now.

Got mine today!

I haven't messed with it too much because I have to work. But preliminary tests through my Switch playing a few games are promising.

I tested, briefly:
Breath of the Wild: looks like full screen AA, eliminates some jaggies, but not too dramatic at least in Gerudo Town.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: fuck this looks good. It took what was already one of the smoothest games on Switch and made it look even better.

Smash Bros Ultimate: Menus look crisper. Actual gameplay didn't seem that effected immediately. The spirit portraits jaggies are definitely remoced.

Diablo III: the pixel shimmering that's everywhere is gone! Especially noticeable on the menu screen, but also with the damage numbers. This game usually runs at a super low resolution and has variable resolution so the Mcable kinda gives the whole thing a softer, fuzzier look.
I'm used to playing D3 at 4k on PC and it obviously won't get the Switch version looking anything like that.

I also tried the Switch SNES with Super Mario World at "pixel perfect". It....did.... Something? But I couldn't quite place what. I need to mess with it some more, try other rendering modes and games.

What Switch Games do you want me to test? Or any other older consoles you'd like me to try? Keep in mind the max resolution that this guy can output is 1440p60 and it has to have an HDMI input.

I really want to see what it does with Zelda: Link's Awakening, but I don't own it yet.

Mine looks like it's coming on monday. Gona also try it on the switch and ps4/xbox one x on a samsung 8 series 65" that does 1440@120hz... so I guess it will be 60@ but alot smoother and faster hopefully.

I don't see the appeal for PS4/xbox one x... unless its for the AA and image sharping?

In theory it should speed up the game as you would run the system at a lower res (less strain on the console) allowing the mClassic to run it at a higher screen res.

Mine didnt come (it was something else in the mail).. and now no idea when it is as I ordered it so late.

Doesn't work that way. Wouldn't it be just upscale instead of running native res on the hardware? Would think the quality world be worse.

I'm gonna do some testing on switch, forcing it at 720p and then using the Mclassic to output at 1080 or (maybe?) 1440p.

I don't think it'll look as nice as native 1080, but there's a lot of games that display below that on switch already that have framerate drops so if this makes it a bit more consistent it may be worth it.

Breath of the Wild is a good example, or maybe Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

The switch struggles in certain games so running at a lower res would speed things up as the mClassic would work its magic at 1440.

Same as the ps4 and xbox in theory.

I wont be able to test that out till I get it.. hopefully it's coming tomorrow or Thursday.

Then again I gota deal with my son wanting to play his ps4. :/
