Hello could you guys point me in the right direction for a good 144hz monitor around $150. Mainly would be used for gaming.

Also would you choose a 1920x1080 monitor in 24 inch or 27 inch?

I find 1080p at 27" has lousy text/dpi and so I personally don't like it. It's fine for gaming but if you spend half your time reading/browsing/chrome etc my preference would be 24" size.

For gaming I prefer 27" at 1080. Yes it's lower DPI than a 24" but it's worth the tradeoff to me for more screen real estate. Honestly I've never had a problem with the pixel density of 1080 on a 27" screen. Yes 1440 is sharper on a 27 but then you've got a much bigger load on your GPU and that kinda defeats the purpose of a 144+Hz screen.

Could always go with a 25" gaming monitor. Those seem to be pretty popular these days. Still a good pixel density and a little larger screen than a 24.

Its all a tradeoff really. For me, 27 @ 1080 for the high frame rates is my preference.

I've been using an AOC C24G1 and it's nice for a budget display. It's a VA panel which I like because the shadows are deeper and colors nicer than TN but also has more motion blur/smearing and less brightness uniformity than TN, I don't mind the tradeoff, some do.

"best" monitor is going to be really subjective; TN vs VA, curved vs flat, etc. I don't think 27" is too big for 1080P but then my eyes are terrible so I'm not one to say, ha
