Has anyone tried running a 3700x on an ASRock AB350 ITX/ac? I'm looking to upgrade my 1800x.

Dunno, but they did pretty good with the b350m pro4 update. My 3700x is solid at 4.25 GHz all core @ 1.4V on the 6.0 bios.

Bios support is there from ASRock. VRM power shouldn't be an issue if you had success with you 1800x.

I ordered a 3700x today to go with my Asrock x370M Pro4. The board has been rock solid with my 2200g so I decided to give it a shot. At the most I may have to just buy an x570 board or something, but wanted to at least try and possibly save myself $200 for a little bit. Will update this weekend how it goes. Let us know if you decide to bite the bullet!

I don't have any experience with that particular board but I am running an MSI B350 Gaming Plus which has a fairly anemic 4+2 phase VRM with an overclocked 2700 which ends up pulling at least as much power as my stock clocked 3900x. VRMs seem to be holding up just fine. Just the air coming off the Wraith Prism cooler is enough to keep them cool enough not to burn your finger even under heavy load. I'd say as long as you have some air flow you should be fine. Especially at stock speeds.

Ended up going with a 3600 instead. Either way.. after two bios updates and a chip swap it was running completely solid.

well .. I run a 2700x on my daughters ASRock B350 Fatil1ty Gaming ITX/ac and it draws a lot more power than the 3700x does

I have the Fatal1ty 350 ITX board and am also curious. If it's stable and worthwhile, I'll slide on over from my 7700k ITX setup (mostly for gaming).

Yeah, I think I will, by the time I can afford a 3900x more BIOS updates will have happened.

It's been running my 1700 overclocked 24/7 since ryzen launch. But I'm not sure how much power draw the 3900x will actually be.
