I rma my 270 and just get a message that they shipped out the 560. This is after about a month of back and forth with them to even get the rma. Now it looking like I'm getting short changed here: reviews for the product are shit and, apparently the r9 270 is head to head and better in some games than the rx560. A fucking 2013 card is better than one released in 2017? AMD can kiss my ass.

Need some advice on what to do here if anything at all. Xfx used to be the shit, i don't know what happened to them.

Edit: I do not want a better card, I want the same performance which will be a r9 270. The principal.

If you had a 2gb model then I'd say you did OK. Looking at the overall picture you got a slight downgrade but about even if you think of it on the RAM buffer size.

That is my point man, this is a principal thing for me after how long it took to even rma it, and this particular replacement card has horrendous reviews. I don't like it but idk if it is even worth it to do the shit show with these guys, quality has gone way down.

Maybe Mark @ XFX can chime in and help you out. You deserve an RX 470 or 570 IMO.

Thanks for the shout out, I appreciate it. I will see what I end up doing here because I will end up shelling out more for shipping than it would cost me to buy a used r9 270x on on ebay. Fuck I'm stupid.

It looks like the RX 560 is a slightly better gaming card here. Honestly, they are probably neck and neck which means you didn't lose anything with the RMA. RMA doesn't mean a free performance upgrade when your 6 year old card breaks with a lifetime warranty. It looks like you are getting the modern equivalent performance wise of your card that runs with less power usage and has more memory.

Check out my link where people don't post fps with a phenom II. I don't want an upgrade, I just don't want a downgrade.

Honestly, it's 1/2 the power consumption and runs almost the exact same speed (90% of the games it's a virtual tie, a few it falls a tiny bit short but I doubt noticeably). The rx570 would be a pretty big upgrade, so as far as cards that are available, that's the one that is closest in performance. I doubt they have an r9 270's in stock. Did they send you one with all the stream processors or the cut down version? I have 2 of those cards for my kids boxes (not the castrated ones, the full ones) and they work well and are quiet and sip power.

I don't really see it as a downgrade. It looks like a sidegrade. The 470/570 is obviously a much faster card than the 270.

The floating point performance is somewhat higher with the 560. The gaming performance is probably slightly less overall (win some lose some vs 270). The pixel rate is higher on the 270 and the texture rate is higher on the 560. You're never going to get an apples to apples comparison since they are different architectures.

I don't think they screwed you with a downgrade. It's just has different strengths and weaknesses vs your old card. The key one being it has a higher resale value if you don't like it.

I respectful disagree, not only is it slower in all but 4 games it is also a bad product according to reviews on new egg and amazon.

Higher resale value= ill give it away for free on the forum because no one will buy it. I'll use my 7850 until it dies which also has a useless life time warranty RMA it and give a second 560 for free on the forum.

They sent me the 16 cu, but I'm not happy. This is a principal thing for me, I have a 1080 and all that jazz. This card just goes into another system, but I'm feeling like the i want to see your manager lady right now.

Being they replaced your card with a card that performs 10% slower but has higher VRAM after 7 years... I would just try it out before you label it as crap. Remember you are dealing with different driver variations which Polaris has been optimized over the years. Try it out. If its crap, let XFX know. They honored the warranty at least.

Then sell it when you get it. It's probably worth $70-75 on fleabay compared to $35 or so for a used 270 (assuming a non-x). Regardless of your view of the performance metrics, they gave you a card that is worth more than the one you sent them. So you're really an RMA winner in the grand scheme of things. Half the time people get back other people's dead cards.

It's not a downgrade. It's comparable in most games, and in many metrics is far better. Expecting a 570 is silly.

This is not about the money.

No one wants a 570 if i wanted one I would go buy it. I want the same exact card back because it is better than my replacement and will last longer because these particular xfx 560's cards are terrible (they die a lot) according to reviews.

The whole story here is this card the 270 died and I was like fuck it lets see how the xfx lifetime warranty works.

This is how it works (this took place from 7/21 to 8/15)

First message I get from the support:
Unfortunately, it appears that this unit has failed and is no longer in warranty. There isn’t really a lot we can do at this point. We’re sorry for your loss. Mark at XFX

Me: I explain to them that according to their website it is lifetime warranty.

Second message I get from the support:
Only Double Dissipation (2 Fan) models of the 7000 series carry a lifetime warranty, your original card was a single fan 7850, those have a 2 year warranty.

Me: I offer to send a picture of the box which says it has a lifetime warranty.

Third message I get from support:
Finally they ask me to send a copy of my original receipt to an email they provide.

Me: I send the email with everything that was requested to the email provided.

(1 week passes)

Me: guys I sent you that email just want to see what is going on.

Forth message I get from support:
Sorry we cannot see it, please send it to this other email.

Me: Forwarded the message to your email. Thank you for your help.

Fifth message I get from support: It is ready to RMA

(today I got notice of shipping for the rma)

That is a lot of bullshit man. If I was as dumb as I am, which I am, I would not even think to look up the warranty provisions and saved my self shipping cost/time to xfx, the month of back and forth, and shipping/time to the new owner of this free 560 on the forum. (yeah ill pay for shipping because it is such a shit card I would feel bad to ask for shipping cost because it may die in a week)

I just don't get why you are so down on the 560. You got 6 years of service out of your card and got them to give you another one when that one died. You won the RMA game. Stop complaining.

Naw man you looking at it wrong. They are obliged to give me a replacement because of their marketing which says they will. I got a subpar card = lost RMA game.

On the bright side someone here will get a free card if XFX tells me to fuck off.

edit: yeah they changed the wording it used to be equal or better performance now it is a "performance-comparable product" = (what ever we give you is what you get.) XFX is garbage, AMD garbage.

This is the last time I'm going to post in this thread...

1). You got a replacement. You got a comparable card as a replacement as you can't expect them to have leftover 270's. You just don't like your comparable card.
2). There is no reason to give away an RMA'd card just because you don't like it. The very least you can do is use it and test it to see if it works where your old 270 was. That's the whole point of RMAing your old card.
3). It's no wonder that lifetime warranties are essentially extinct after reading a thread like this.

1). The card is bad, reviews say it is bad, I don't just not like it.
2). It is bad: I will give it away for free because it is bad.
3). Lifetime warranties are most likely gone because they are not an effective marketing tool.

This will not be the last time I post in this thread...

Dude, you're really just sounding whiney at this point. It's like 2% slower in like 2 games, all others are well within margin of error (like .5fps). It uses 1/2 the power and you got many years from the original which is no longer manufacturers. You say you don't expect a 570, so.... What does that leave? You wanted a 5700xt instead? That's about as close to original as they make. They aren't going to manufacture a 7+ year old card for you. No clue why your so bitter, it's a good card and very comparable.
Worst case, it's worth more than your old card, sell it and buy another 270, heck you can buy 2 used 270's with the money from the 560.

As I mentioned, I have 2 of these, one in an itx and both run just fine, neither have given me issues. Quiet and don't get hot. Not sure what reviews said they aren't good, but you seem to complain about it without ever trying it. If you want to give it away for free, let me know... I wouldn't mind a third pc with an xfx 560.

Bro come on, I want to give it to someone who is in need of a card.

AMD can kiss my ass.

Exactly how is this AMD's fault when it is XFX that you are whining about?

There is no "perfect" replacement for your ancient card and you got somewhat a very comparable card.

You are just cherry-picking at it. Sounds like OP was hoping for an upgrade and is disappointed that he couldn't rip off XFX.

The 270 is better than a card that came out in 2017, it is literally the 1080ti of the last 5 AMD generations. That is all AMD.

They have 270's, all that mining there are probably even 7850's and 6850's at xfx but I get a product that is bad: it dies it says so in many reviews and I am getting a referb of that pos card.

I want to rip off XFX: I'm literally giving this 560 away completely free, I'm even paying for shipping, to someone on the forum who needs it.

Just so everyone knows, I am self aware, I know how dumb I sound. I don't care I'm giving this card away and XFX sucks and AMD sucks. At this point even if XFX wanted to give me a Titan RTX I would tell them to shove it up their ass.

Newer doesn't always means better.

The 270 is hardly any better than the RX 560 unless you are cherry-picking only particular benchmarks.

You got a comparable card but you are the only one whining about it. Just give the card away like you keep saying and I'm sure XFX and AMD won't care at all. You are only a victim to your own anguish in the end.

Well when I rmaed my msi 270x they sent me a 390... They had offered a lesser card first.

Please go back and edit all of your "principal"s to "principle"... it just makes you look even more ignorant and churlish

Thanks for the spell check man. That right there is the reason i am as dumb as I am. A Aron learn to spell correctly.

I can't quite quite grasp the stupidness on your perspective here. It uses 1/2 the power as the older card and is designed to occupy a low-tear price segment which the 7870/270 never was despite offering near same performance. AMD is evil because the designed a low power low cost card that has similar performance to a former enthusiast GPU?
At this point you are coming across as arrogant and uneducated in PC hardware.
