G'Day all.

I have a server that will be running Windows that I am building up. Have had LSI and Adaptec (Microsemi) RAID cards for a while, but looking for some advice.
  1. Any issues with new RAID cards and NAS style drives like the WD Red series. The compat list on the vendor sites doesn't include the Reds, but does for one card include the Purple drives. Anyone had good or bad stories with current gen LSI and Adaptec cards.
  2. Any experiences towards one or either card family? I've been using LSIs for a while, byt older Adaptec cards for me were rock solid, I just don't know about the current card family.
Thanks in advance

I have liked my LSI card quite a lot.
I hope you are looking at HBA's though and not hardware raid. Nobody should really be using hardware raid anymore.

I prefer LSI HBAs on linux servers with zfs as the fileststem / raid.

On windows you may still want a hardware raid card.
