The local Goodwill? Or maybe they're a hoarder that got put on the spot with The Wife, and had to clear out the CRT collection?

You do know ho many billions of CRTs were made worldwide, and how many are still getting tossed out of garages and family rooms to this day? There are so many of them, some Goodwill locations stopped taking them :D

The hardheaded folks are probably still using theirs, until it dies.

But I give the man credit for making others recycle his trash, while making them think it's cute!

All Goodwills stopped taking them, in fact most all second hand stores stopped accepting them because many recyclers don't accept them anymore.

The way that CRTs were recycled for years is that recycling companies would illegally pack them in shipping containers where they'd go to China, India or other third world country where they could be dumped for pennies. Entire communities built up around the ewaste endpoints to scrap them, while creating hazardous levels of pollution in the air and ground. China within the last year or so has banned imports of ewaste because of the severe environmental damage it has caused, so ewaste haulers are desperately trying to find places to dump their crap.

Could be an electronics recycler that got stuck with a pile of TVs when China stopped taking all the US trash. If they catch him, they can probably charge 1 count of improper disposal of hazardous waste per TV.

Staples takes CRTs (or at least they used to about 9 months ago) without charge.

I would take a Sony Trinitron for retro gaming. The largest he has.

Heck yeah, those are the best for retro consoles. We had one up until a couple years ago when it finally died. I think I purchased it in 2002.

That's what I was thinking too.

I’d agree....but only if he’s willing to carry it up my stairs.

Had one years ago a 27” I think wide screen with 480p? I don’t know, I do know it was fucking heavy as shit. And then the sulfur killed it like so many others. RIP our old Zenith too.

Yeah, when I moved my buddy back in 2003, dude has a 32" WEGA, a three of us could barely handle it

27" was the largest size CRT where two people could carry it without breaking out in a sweat.

This has been quite the discussion on the local news (I live about 1.5 hours away from where this happened). Apparently, while most people are simply taking the TV's to a recycling center, several people have decided to keep them. Really, if you are using older medium (VHS) it generally looks better on a CRT than an LCD, and of course if you're into retro gaming, they will work better with the old consoles.

I have a 40" Sony XBR CRT in my garage. I bought it for my retro game room, and it never made it in there due to the weight lol. 325lbs without the stand. 400+ with the stand. It literally broke my furiture dolly trying to get it into the house, so it has been in my garage for 2 years.

Shhhhh I’m paying this guy and he’s gonna finally drop off a TV at my place that works with light guns.

Wife won’t let me have a CRT cause she’s a nazi. If you want her pictures I’ve already posted them.

Obviously he was sent by the Melee God's to help with your spacies game. Now get at me 1v1 FD no items.
