Where is 9900KS?

I would think if you were interested in this cpu that you would have paid attention to the release date or at least googled it. It does not come out until Q4.

I have never seen a release that said Q4 happen in fiscal year Q4 from Intel, AMD, or Nvidia.... My guess is this isn't going to change ;). When they say Q1 2020 it means first quarter of year 2020... So Q4 2019 means last quarter (oct - dec) 2019... Same as it meant last year and the year before.

It's a 9900k on steroids with more cores and a lil higher boost clocks I believe. I'm interested in doing a new build around this cpu as well. So I'm waiting till fall.

Wrong. It's a 9900K that boosts to 5.0GHz on all cores. As I understand it, there are no other changes to the silicon.
He could be think of that special 14 core sku that is only available to OEMs.

There is a Core i9 9900X which is a 10c/20t HEDT CPU for X299 / LGA 2066 motherboards.

I think I got them confused. Ya I thought that was the 10 core cpu. So just a better binned 9900k then I guess? Guaranteed boost all core 5ghz? They really need a new higher core count flagship cpu. Wtf Intel. Asleep at the switch while and is moving along it seems.

BTW. I'm guessing the 9900 x is probably a1200 dollar cpu. If I'm guessing right?

No. They are about $1,000. $1,025.00 at Amazon and if you are lucky enough to be near a Microcenter as I am, they are $849.99. However, that is an in store price only.

Why would you have to guess when you could have simply googled it in much less time than it took you to type that out?

Cause I felt like guessing and wasn't thinking of looking it up at that particular moment. That ok with you my brother? Did it cost you something? /Curious.

Along with your wasted time, we now have 4 useless posts in this thread... well 5 now counting this one.

Will this bring a soldered gpu like 9900k, or it will be more like 9900kf? Nice find on this!

Its not in here... move along, nothing new to see at Intel right now ;)
I didn't know we should now be expecting a new CPU release every 6 months. It's almost as if different companies have different release schedules .

Yeah, they do... One released a new product, the other is adding +++'s with minor updates because they are completely off track on their 10nm schedule. They both typically do refreshes (very minor speed bumps) and bigger releases (slightly larger increases). AMD was barely releasing anything for a while, now it seems Intel is doing minor refreshes since.. well, since 6th gen pretty much.

You've got to give Intel time to stockpile a few golden sample chips.

Not really. Intel's extremely consistent with their production quality. As I said, I'm 3 for 3 on 9900K's. None of which were provided by Intel. I've achieved 5.1GHz on the 9600K and 5.0GHz for the 9700K. Basically, all 9x00 series CPU's I've tested can hit 5.0GHz at least.

I also have a 9900KF I'm going to try out.

Yeah, but they're not going to distribute those kinds of chips as a 9900KS in the retail channel. They're going to cherry pick those with the best characteristics so as to limit the "Emergency Edition" jokes. (That is, of course, if we don't have another 8086K moment where some of the processors don't actually hit their rated boost speeds. That's right, folks, it's not just an AMD thing!)

Last rumor I heard was October but makes me wonder if that's just the announcement or actually release to stores?

As a point of reference, the 8086k managed an 8% boost to base clock over the 8700k with a 0% increase to TDP.

This is 33% more cores than an 8086k with 33% higher tdp at the same 4.0 ghz base clock. So yeah, nothing to see here.

Waiting for it also.... Will amazon have it in stock when it is released?

That remains to be seen. Will it be a paper launch where we have to wait an additional month before actual CPUs or will stores get them at announcement? Curious about it myself.
