Bigger Navi is coming but which Nvidia card(s) will it compete with?

Until we know how many CU's that Big Navi has I am not going to speculate. We don't know if AMD is playing it safe or trying to make a leap.

Agree with your sentiment, just happy to see AMD competing so well and hoping for a leap...something close
to RTX2080Ti would be great. Exciting times for hardware enthusiasts.

AMD's CPU division is competing well.

AMD's graphics division is not. The navi cards are not pulling people away from the RTX series, the best thing they did in gamers' eyes was make the 2070 and 2080 slightly cheaper (by way of Nvidia renaming them as one step lower SUPER).

until AMD has a encoder like NVENC....they will not have any of my business. Their h264 encoding sucks more than a prostitute during the world cup.

I'll take your word for it....the NVENC part I mean ;)
lol yeah. I used to do software encoding for twitch, but I switched over to the new Turing NVenc and WOW man. It's super nice. More power to AMD GPU users who are happy who don't need the encoding stuff, cause there has been some Radeons that are great. But the encoding is something I really think AMD needs to work on before I consider buying or suggesting any of their cards now.

You are absolutely correct. They actually put further development time into improving the h265 encoder instead of other encoders, despite common knowledge that hevc was dead since 2016-17 due to patent pools.

Whoever was responsible for the planning of those projects really messed up. If they had half decent vp9 and h264 encoder at least it wouldn't be so bad, but like this we risk having ANOTHER whole console generation that is garbage for streaming.

It's simply not acceptable anymore.
