Is WD still manufacturing HGST-designed drives? Which "color?"

I have been using HGST Deskstar and Travelstar drives for at least 10 years now, ever since Seagate had a real disaster with its Barracuda drives. No way, Jose, will I ever touch a Seagate drive,.

Is WD still manufacturing HGST drives under its own brand? Designing newer, larger drives based on HGST designs?
Which "color?" Or if not, which WD "color" should I get that is closest to the HGST designs?

Gold is the enterprise level and the highest reliability on their drive list.

The above are correct, they look gold'ish still to me :p.

I just got some 14tb WD from the egg.
The WD label is color free generic looking.
There is no hgst label under it.
I ran Data Lifeguard and first thing it popped up a reminder to register it @ the HGST site, NOT the Western Digital site.

Not actual proof they are HGST but WD clearly wants me to think so.

TBF if you bought that much of a well known brand you'd probably want to flaunt it a bit or at least make people think you aren't changing anything.

That is kinda of ironic no? Given it is the same logic as the HGST Deathstar fiasco?

I can only say that I have had more problems with Seagate than with Hitachi. Just yesterday on a flight home, I had a 1 GB Hitachi TravelStar that fell off the seat rest on to the floor. Worked fine for the rest of the flight. :)
