I have a Pace 5268AC that I use only to connect to internet with ATT, after that I have Asus 68P for wireless and router stuff.
For some reason I can not access firewall settings in the Pace..?? Any ideas? I tried att support but they said rain could causing the loss of signal with my DTV...heheh

What is your internal subnet on your Asus? I'm willing to bet 192.168.1.0/24 if so change it to 192.168.2.0/24. That said are you an internet only user or internet+tv. If internet only take a serious look at the bypass methods available to you and forget the the PACE.

Pace is on 192.168.1.254 the Asus 192.168.2.1. I seen some information about using the Asus for the gateway but setting it up is way over my head and I don't have a NVG510 or 599

Is the PACE in dmz+ mode and the Asus wan port is plugged into the Pace? Also, forget all EAP proxy stuff if you can change the MAC address of your asus WAN to match the WAN of the Pace your good. You just need to add something like a TP-Link sg2008 between your ont and the routers. Again only if your internet only. If you use Uverse TV your stuck with the PACE.

^^ this assuming AT&T is only for Internet. Only did it once and about a year ago and have since moved out of AT&T's internet service area. You want your real firewall/router gizmo in the DMZ of the Pace. IIRC - there is a setting or two on the Pace you set/change to enable DMZ mode. Once set correctly, your firewall gets the public IP of the Pace and pretty much works as though the Pace is in bridge mode.

Will cover the quick and easy steps for total Pace bypass. (again internet only)

1. Get a TP Link sg2008
2. Connect the TP Link to an inside port of Asus (this is will allow to manage the switch)
3. Change the TP Link passowrd
4. Change the Asus WAN MAC to the WAN MAC of the Pace
5. Log into the GUI of TP Link and configure 3 ports on vlan 25
6. Attach your ONT to the first of these VLAN25 ports (powered off)
7. Attach your PACE WAN port to the second of the VLAN25 ports (powered off)
8. Attach your Asus WAN Port to third of the VLAN 25 ports
9. Power down Asus
10. Power up ONT
11. Power up Pace
12. Wait for Solid Green light on Pace (online)
13. Power off Pace
14. Power on Asus
15. Once Asus up and runnnig you should be online and the pace is cold

Please note if the ONT link goes down for any reason you must repeat steps 9-15 skipping step 10 since ONT will already be up. I would suggest using a UPS on ONT and switch to decrease risk of this.
